this one is the best idea because you don't want to put unnecessary stress on the bushings. another way to do it is put the jack under the LCA and raise it until its at the regular position and torque the bolts down from there.

this morning i was actually thinking about this one..
i got 2 jacks.. so i will jack the LCAs till i see the car its lifted some from the stands.. (as it would be if it was on the ground) then torque them down...
since im not done with the front.. brakes are next.. dont wanna put everythin together then bring it down.. then back up again..

the best way is to torque them while the car sits at regular height, why? because if you don't when you torque them you'll "bite" the bushing so when you lower the car it will twist and this will make the bushing to get damaged quickly.
Off course is up to you to do it that way or not, but think about why the bushings that came with the car lasted sooo long.
TRICK: go to a wood shop and buy 4 block of woods that are like 8 inches tall and whatever are you can get and be safe (or anything else that accomplish this, the ramps used to do oil changes work as well, and even better) and put the car in this blocks and lowered, now you can get under the car and tight the bolts.

i jack up from under the lower control arm [that i'm working on] until it lifts slightly from the jack stand placed at the jack point [on the side of the car] and then tighten the bolts/nuts. easier and much more room than setting it down on wheels/tires.

This is the best way. You may also find it easier when using to do with the tires/wheels off when using a torque wrench because there isn't much room in the wheel wells.
