accord ebay coilovers on integra/civic
has anyone used them? if so how was the ride. just need to raise my front end alittle for the meantime on my swap db1 since my skunk2 are to low.
anyhow since the accord coils have a higher spring rate to handle the weight of the car do you think i should be fine? i know they 100% fit. please chime in if you have info on this. thanks.

**** parts, not even intended for the vehicle you are putting them on.
Not sure you'll find many people of 'that level' that have done this TBH.
Why not buy parts for an actual Civic?

Get better spring rates for the civic? Using different model components due to the nature of the stock varient seems foolish and less than ideal to me. Go to the junkyard and knab some stockers and use them until you can afford something with a less aggressive drop.

"better"?
youre really worried about "ride"?
*hint* "ride" has more to do with the quality of your shocks and available shock travel. not which shitty springs you have.

Re: accord ebay coilovers on integra/civic
It's going to get answered either, because people with Civics buy parts for Civics, not for Accords.
<--- You see that car there, in my avatar? That's an Accord. Virtually nothing on it is compatible with a Civic. I know, I've had both.
Get higher rate springs for your coilovers, it's not hard.

The shock or whatever you want to call it dampens the spring so you don't bounce all over the place. So yes, they do go hand in hand with ride comfort.
Answer to orginal question: Don't do it. It's stupid. No one has done it because it doesn't make any sense. Get civic springs. Progress sells sport drop springs for $150 brand new shipped. They are like 300/220 I think. They give a 2" drop or so over stock.

Re: accord ebay coilovers on integra/civic
why would i want to put softer rate civic coils on my front end of my swapped teg? theres a link that i posted above that clearly makes sense on what im talking about.
and sport springs do not give a 2in drop.

Re: accord ebay coilovers on integra/civic
The link you posted was about fitted cheap crappy coilover sleeves on a BMW. It bears no relevance to putting Accord parts on an Integra.
No-one said put softer coils on it. We said put firmer ones for a Civic/Integra on there. Go to a reputable spring mfg and you can ask for any rate you want, instead of trying to bodge parts off other cars.

Re: accord ebay coilovers on integra/civic
clearly states using different coils from a different car! its bears relevance to my post. im not staying with these coils this is just to raise my front end for the meantime. till i can get a full coilover system. i dont know whats really so hard to understand?
are you telling me ebay coils for an accord are the same spring rates as the civics and tegs?
now back to the topic. if anyone has done this please reply. thanks

Re: accord ebay coilovers on integra/civic
If you say they 100% fit, and the spring rates are what you want, why don't you just crack on with it? Why do you need to wait for someone to chime in to give you the OK on it? I doubt anyone is going to put their hand up, because it's just not something that is done.
I can't believe that you current suspension cannot handle the weight of a B series. It's not exactly a whacking great V8.

Okay... so check this out.
Skunk2 is too low.
Stock is too high.
Accord (also stock but doesn't fit) is the perfect match.
How does this make sense? By the way, I based my statement off of this:
http://www.progressauto.com/products.../productID/308
Clearly says 2" drop. But they don't make springs for the DB1.
The DB1 came with a LS motor, right? If it's stock I don't understand how you are having issues unless you have crappy springs.

b20/b16 vtec as stated with skunk race springs! and where did i state using stock accord springs??
read the ad before replying...
also from your link which is kinda weird because i know sport springs is suppose to give you a mild/decent drop from 1in-1.8 drop.
anything after 2in is race springs.
