2007 Honda Accord Ex rear alignment problem
Well I went to pep boys to get an alignment after getting new front struts (kybs) I decided an alignment was a must after that job. Pep boys informed me they were able to align the front, but could not align the back because the upper control arm is non-adjustable. They told me I need a new upper control arm with an adjustable camber in order to do the rear alignment. Really honda?? Did honda really make a car that cannot be aligned properly unless an aftermarket part is purchased?
Can someone please shed some light on my situation. I want to get an alignment, but Idk if its worth it if I have to spend a few hundred on a part just to do the alignment. Any alternatives pleasse.
Also if it is non-adjustable how could the alignment be out of place in the first place?
car has 117000 miles on it. also are the monroe quick struts any good? I would like to install those in the rear myself if they are good quality. I dont really like the kybs, bc they ride harsh.

You are 100% on this? I do not need a new control to adjust the camber and align correctly?
Someone also said it could be a bushing causing my alignment to be off, but for some odd reason pep boys didnt claim anything was broken and actually told me everything looked like it was in prestige condition.

Re: 2007 Honda Accord Ex rear alignment problem
The rear toe is adjustable, the rear camber is not. If your lower toe adjust arms are seized then you will need to replace the arm, eccentric bolt and washer/nut. If it is not, and you need camber adjustment, you will need to buy an aftermarket piece as it is non-adjustable from factory. Unless you lowered the car or it has been in an accident you would not ever need to adjust rear camber. If it was too far negative and a bit positive on the other side, any competent alignment shop should be able to shift the rear subframe over to equalize the camber.

Order an adjustable turnbuckle kit for the upper arms. This particular year range has a very bad problem with chewing tires, of which most can be attributed to incorrect rear camber. You will recoup the money as you will greatly extend your tire life (so long as they align it correctly)
FIY: alignment adjustability is at the mercy of the manufacturer. They do not have to provide you an adjustment point for every angle. This is unfortunate, but is the way of things. This car is one of five in this year range that have excessive camber problems, usually right off the delivery truck. (In excess of 1 degree out of spec)
ALSO: An alignment is never a requirement, but checking/verifying wheel alignment is a must when replacing most suspension parts.
