This is why we dont EVER use Craigslist
I am putting together a LS swap into an EG. Easy right? Wrong. I bought a GSR tranny from a dude off of CL. I was hesitant and expressed this to him. He immediately calls me to assure me how legit he is and how mint and flawless the tranny is. "I understand you are hesitant to buy from me cuz Im from CL but I am 100% legit." Put it in my car and its missing the deten bolt spring and ball bearing and it looks like they globbed silicone on the outside bolt cause it might be stripped or the case is cracked and it leaks like crazy.
His number is (909) 239-5682 but starts his ads from (909) 705-2499BEWARE!!!
Next I bought a p75 off of a guy who again swore up and down that it worked. He actually put it on his car and it started so that was cool but then shut it off. I tried to start my car and nothing. It wanted to start but just couldnt connect. Threw on my p28 with S3 and it fired right up.
Bought a midshaft off another guy who claimed it was 5 speed, it was auto. He is going to paypal me a refund so I wont post his number. When I did my turbo build I bought every part from HT members even over paying in some cases and never had a problem. I recently had a motor problem and the guy gave me a full refund. I thought this was a simple LS bone stock motor swap but every fffing part is going wrong. Why is CL so shady?

Re: This is why we dont EVER use Craigslist
i wouldnt even buy a trans from honda tech unless i know him or he's a long time member on here.... i got dicked by a shop in oc for a trans he said it was rebuilt and everything is good, so i told him to mark the trans bolts so that i dont take it apart and try to scam him, got home installed the trans, and put it in gear doesnt move or anything i called him back and he refunded the money but *** wasted my time.

Re: This is why we dont EVER use Craigslist
wow...am i the only one who sells on craigslist and actually will refund or fix the problems that others do..
example: sold my personal transmission to a guy. he calls me 2 weeks later saying the transmission was starting to grinding and if i had sold him a beat up trans(note:the synchrones had been replaced and he didnt have no issues for the first 2 weeks). i told him the transmission was in perfect condition and if he would bring it back i can check the internals to see what was wrong.he brought it back and as soon as i saw the transmission i notice the exterior and clutch housing full of oil. the seal from the transmission were the halfshaft goes in was missing. to make story short, he forgot to install the seal and the trans was driven with no oil since it all leaked out. 2 gear was gone. replaced it with an extra one that i had.
sucks that not all people are honest with others, but like they say if it sounds too good to be true then something bad will be the outcome

Re: This is why we dont EVER use Craigslist
i do that too lol, i spent 2 hours looking at a car, inspecting every piece of the car before i buy and point out every single flaw, even if its a slightly slit wire harness
