Testing Waters - 92 Honda Civic Hatchback! Lowballers VERY Welcome..
JUST PAY THE IMPOUND FEES, NO EXTRA DOUGH NEEDED. - Fee is nearing $1100.
WOULD LIKE TO TRADE FOR NA MIATA - Stock is fine. Cash on top on my side as well, if the situation is needed.
I've got a 92 Honda Civic hatchback DX that's impounded at the tow yard at the moment. I'm going to give you the best information I can about the car, I have not seen it for 2 weeks now so yea..
If you want it, pay the fee and a then some, and drive it out of there.
Car is still clean title, has a 210,000 miles on it and it's still running strong. I took it to Six Flags Magic Mountain (from Santa Ana, CA) prior to it being impounded. It's got a generic short ram intake and straight pipe exhaust out to a Magnaflow muffler.
I recently got the windshield replaced for a month now. Also got a replacement hood for it that's primered black, ready to be painted.
Here's a clip of how the exhaust sounds,
Prior to me owning it, it had/s the following damage..
NO hood mounts (member here on HT can vouch), cracked windshield, broken signal corners, no stereo, no speakers, and broken hood (meaning it wasn't even attached to the car), no window pillar/weather stripping, and no driver side mirror.
So I just bought the hood, driver side mirror, stereo, speakers, windshield and 'JDM style' corners. I was planning on fixing it some more, but now that it's impounded I don't feel like doing much to it.
Here's pics of it after some fixes
YES, the paint does have scratches. It's not freshly painted. The door jambs have been painted though, and engine bay is sprayed black. Former color was Tahiti Green?
The tires are fresh.., and it's lowered on some cheapo coilovers. I don't know what model, but they ride already for being low as they are. They can go lower.., yes it's on stock shocks. I didn't put them on, I bought the car with them.
Pros
- Everything still works smoothly
- New windshield
- Replacement hood + mounts
- Very gas efficient, I was getting 40-42mpg
- Mechanically sound
- New stereo, iPod/sDisk/MP3 disc
- Tires are still fresh
- Interior is clean
- Has 96-00 Civic sideskirts
Cons
- Needs brakes to be bled
- Front bumper is pushed in from accident w/ previous owner
- No spare tire/jack
- 2 speakers up front work (pretty loud for 2), the rears aren't wired up
- Paint has scratches
- Clutch bearing is starting to make some noise
- Missing driver/pass. weather stripping + pillars
- PRO/CON - filled/shaved moldings
- Dash has a 'dent' from previous owner

Eh got pulled over and officer (Tustin, CA btw) deemed it was 'too illegal' to be driven on the road and required that it had to be towed. I was like WTFFF. Now pretty much, I don't wanna play with Honda toys anymore
As for fees, I just want something that can somewhat cover buying a $2000 Miata.
