Lights on whole dash just went out......

Lights on whole dash just went out......
I recently had the dash lights go out on me. The Climate controls have been out for awhile now, but just last night the cluster lights wouldnt come on. Ive checked the dimmer and the connections with the dimmer and added a few pieces of foil but still nothing. Any thoughts? I fear Ill have to remove the entire cluster. When I remove the cluster what am I exactly looking for?
