Parting out my 95ex accord coupe
Well I am at 172k and I want a truck.
I have a grand in the bank and I can't get much for my 95ex b/c the airbags are gone and I need cv joints brakes and a front window.
A friend mentioned to me that I could part it out and get a lot more than the 1-1.5k I was expecting off selling it. What do you guys think? any experience?
I can buy a early 90's stick regular full size pickup and part it out slow... but how much can I really expect to get?
I do have good window motors a sunroof that works and a spoiler with brake light, head and tail lights hood doors, wheels and new tires etc... is this a wise move? The motor is burning oil now also so I am thinking a seal has gone.. how much is my motor worth? I have a transmission that runs... any value?
I am considering it. Just wanted some experienced people's advice.

I'll give you $50 for the spoiler and $150 for the sunroof assembly. those are junkyard prices, so you may want to call one to get a baseline

alabama and the front and rear bumpers are a joke
I am still just CONSIDERING parting it out.
I know someone that will take my spoiler... my sunroof assembly should be worth a bit more than that shouldn't it?

Re: Parting out my 95ex accord coupe (Hamil)
You're better off just selling it off as a whole. If you have loads of time to part it out then I guess go for it. But who knows if you would actually get alot of people to buy parts. Not pointing fingers at anyone but most of the time people like to flake out and you're stuck with removing the part and them saying "nevermind I cant afford it." So its upto you if you want to go through the hassle of parting it out. I think that maybe you should just keep driving it until you get enough money saved up too buy your truck and then at that time just cut your losses and sell the accord. Thats just a thought though.

Re: (DelSolSi93)
I need the driver's side power door actuator, and if it's tan interior the whole glove box & assembly, the coin holder to the left of the steering wheel, and the trim around the driver's side power door lock.

The wheels are not the orriginal alloys. I have three good steel 14" wheels (one got bent a little) and 4 good tires that have about 2,000 miles on them
If I sold the wheels it would be in about three to four weeks...
I am about 95% I am going to part it but here's the deal. I am going to begin selling the things I can sell and still drive it.
I am talking actuators and door lock switches etc.... the sunroof I think is fair game also... along with my spoiler and passenger/back seats... everything else is fair game including the motor/trany after about a month. I should have my truck by then.
Let me know what you need and for how much and we can start talking.

If you plan on parting it out, it's going to take time. There is a lot of stuff to remove from the car. If you have the time and don't need the money right away then it may be possible for you to make more by parting it out. It's a major hassle though, I know because I'm parting my 95 EX right now. I crunched my car though and really had no other choice.
Another thing to think about is what are you going to do with the frame when your done?
edit: where are you located?
