Precision SC61 vs. XS Engineering T3/60-1 *Lots of Pics.. 56k Welcome*
Well i just installed my Precision SC61 today and i took lots of pics, damn this thing punks my old turbo, which is an XS Engineering T3/60-1 .63 ar, stage 3 wheel, "S" housing.
Differences that i noticed, driveability wise... my old turbo spooled up around 4800 rpm, full boost on 5th gear. The Precision spooled up a little slower, around 5200 rpm on 5th gear, but the power is definetly there. My butt-dyno estimates around 40-50 whp easily, on the same boost level just by slapping on the turbo. my 10 psi with the SC61 feels like 14 psi with the XS turbo. Ill get this thing dyno tuned when i get a new bigger DP and slap on my new pipings.
Well here are the pics, it's self explanatory and all comments are welcome, enjoy!

nice pics. how did you find out the A/R to the XS turbo, as they grind off all numbers on their turbos?

im just guesstimating, plus i've compared it to other .63 ar turbo's and they look dead similar, even had the same numbers where the T3 flange is.

Looks like the SC61 has a stage 5 turbine? It makes the Stage 3 wheel look tiny.

no
the sc61 has t4 wheel , either .69 or .76trim
it has 11 blades by looking at teh pic
stage 5 = 10 blades

What kind of filter is that and where'd you get the piping for it? Excellent fit.

i've always thought that a stage 5 wheel was 2.5" across, but the Precision SC61 is 2.75" across, so its bigger than a stage 5.
The filter i got from K&N, i just looked through their catalog and found the size i needed, they have a ton of sizes! the pipe is made by HKS, its a 4" to 3" reducer with a 30 deg. angle.

That is not the regulare t350 76 trim stage 5 I dont think. Mine is 2.520" accross and only has 10 blades. My fist SC61 had the t04 .69 trim (if I remember right) and it had 11 blades like yours.

ya, i found it kind of odd that this turbo is Gimongous for what it was. I dont really know the specs, i just told my friend to order me an SC61 to see what the hype was all about.

sweetness.
i was going to say the exh side looks so small on the XS turbo.
your running a 1.8L motor right? and spool in 5th=5200?
hrmm

Re: Precision SC61 vs. XS Engineering T3/60-1 *Lots of Pics.. 56k Welcome* (Silverhatch)
sorry for the misunderstanding. what i meant when it spooled up on 5th gear was it would hit full boost on 5200 rpm. that's on 10 psi, which is my low boost. my motor is a GSR with GE 84.5mm sleeves.
This thing makes power no doubt, with my XS Engineering on 10 psi, it would never let my tires loose on 3rd gear, but with the SC61, my 3rd gear feels like 2nd gear, tires break loose when v-tec hits.
