Re: prelude drift car.
Looks like he does have some skill to drive like that, but it wouldn't pass for drifting in a competition. For one he has to lock the rear wheels way too much. That's seen as a points deduction in drifting unless the course specifically says its ok, usually between awkward corners. I also doubt he could run next to another car for more than a turn. Especially in the chase position if the car in front slows down he can't do anything but straighten up. Then the 'traditional' drifters will say you can't really drift with anything but RWD.
As a fun weekend laugh I think its a cool idea. It's not like what he's doing is easy and its a novelty for sure. I would tell him to take that oversteer skill and go do some rallying though.

Re: prelude drift car.
the entry to that corner was to slow thats why there was a big hand brake drag on the way out. if you watch the hand brake is un used the entire first half of the slide.

Then say so instead of framing it like it's just something cool you ran across.
FWIW, I'm impressed with how well the lines of the Prelude have held up over the years. It's still a good looking car, IMO.

Re: prelude drift car.
Often true ^^^...
Curious what sorta setup is on the car. I can't say that I've ever tried drifting my FWD'ers but if they're set up with enough roll stiffness in the rear + harder compound tires, it seems like it would be relatively easy to do (assuming you carry enough corner entry speed).

Re: prelude drift car.
How does left foot braking help drifting? Right foot braking would do the same thing. LFB is used to A) spool a turbo on the brakes, or B) to transition from brakes to gas REALLY quickly in a race car. Considering your car is FWD, why would you need to quickly transition to throttle (which stabilizes a car and will therefore stop the slide)?
This is not "drifting" really. I mean, not in the way we know it today. Fun project, seems to be a kick to drive, but it's really only half the equation compared to a RWD drift car-- they can slide on the way out as well.
