Re: 1st Pass of Test & Tune @ Lebanon valley dragway
OEM oil pan that I ordered from Synapse. I have had this issue before (the car stalling at idle without my foot on the gas pedal) My buddy played around with the throttle body screw allowing it to idle perfect again at 1200RPM. I just noticed the battery light and oil pressure drop with the clutch in but both go to normal when its out.
How do I fix the oil sloshing around? I checked the oil each pass after it sat for awhile and it was at perfect level. The throttle body does stick on me when I press the gas it acts hesitates for a second then bucks real hard once I start moving again

Also, you should have a clutch pedal stop with that clutch to prevent the RPM's from dropping. Fix it before you trash you're thrust bearings in the engine.

The OEM oil pan doesn't have any traps inside. So, when you let off the gas, push in the clutch, or hit the brakes, the oil is going to slosh forward (away from the pickup tube). Get a better pan that's designed for what you're doing.

Welp, its fixed. (knock on wood) The throttle body needed to be cleaned out and the idle screw needed to be adjusted. Drove the car for awhile and no longer having this issue. Hopefully it was just that. Fingers crossed.
Aside all of this does anyone know what's needed to get my 9 second NHRA license? I got the boot for "going to fast" when I was only trapping 139mph. The track guys told me anything faster then a 135mph or 9.99 is when I need the license. What are the steps in getting this? I have been told so many different things and I am still unsure at this point

Download the forms from NHRA, print them, bring to your doctor for a physical, bring paperwork to the track, do 6 passes, and you're done. LVD is very supportive of this. Just make sure they know ahead of time that you are doing license passes (call ahead and inform them of your intentions). They need to have your paperwork in hand. Then mail in your paperwork to NHRA region and you're golden. That's how I did mine at LVD.
Also, you need to read the rule book and have ALL of your safety gear for running 9.99 or 135mph. Otherwise they won't sign for you. That's the chute, scatter shield, helmet, suit, cage, etc. They are pretty strict when it comes to licensing.
Good luck

If I don't run a 9.99 but I trap 135 or faster does that still count for a 9 second LIC? I really don't want a chute made for the car if I don't need one

I called Lebanon valley today and they told me I have to make at least two 9 second passes. "Have to go 9s"

Re: 1st Pass of Test & Tune @ Lebanon valley dragway
Next Wednesday I plan on making ONLY 1/8 mile passes since the track is giving me a hard time without the NHRA LIC. I would like to see 6.7-6.8 around 112-114mph. I'm going turn up the boost from 11psi with -3 degrees timing taken out (only in 1st gear) to 15psi and adding the 3 degrees back into 1st gear, 2nd I'm looking for 25-27 and 3rd around 30psi. I'm pretty sure the car should hook with that much power seeing as theses tires only have 4 passes on them.

Yea id say shut it down after the short track then when you feel good about it make a full pass and call it a night. Thats bullshit theyre saying you need a 9 sec license @135.....

It's a pain in the *** but I do understand they have to follow NHRA rules. I have to just get the safety equipment and take it from there. I have heard from a ton of other people that other tracks don't give them this issue

Took the car out to my local dragway to compete in the Import face-off event yesterday and was number 1 qualifier. I drove that bitch to the track AND drove it home! I also brought the cash, and the trophy home with me! Won it with a new personal best of a 10.47 @ 140mph!

It's what I have always wanted in a car. In a couple weeks I'm going back to the track to try and get the E.T down a bit more. The car has more left in it the way she sits. #streetcar
