Default how to measure trim bolt?

The side trim in the middle of my drivers side door is coming off due to a missing nut, but I'm not sure how to measure the bolt so I know what nut to get to replace it. The bolt is sticking out of the trim, but I can't remove it to bring it into the hardware store...

Is there a standard thread count? Is the width measured from the edge of the threads, or inside the grooves?

If anyone knows of a resource I could use to look up the bolt/nut I need, please let me know. Thanks!

Go to Majestic Honda Parts.
Look up your cars model, year, sub model, engine.
Go to 'Front Door Lining' in the parts menu.
There should be a diagram of the inner door panel, and a listing of the parts below.

Thanks, great website. I found the nut, it's part number 75307-SN7-000 (NUT, SIDE PROTECTOR). Is there any reference site that will tell me the dimensions/threads per inch so I can just go grab a nut at the hardware store? Or would I have to go get the part from a Honda dealer (would they even have it)? I'm trying to sell the car soon so I'd rather not have to wait for shipping.

Dunno what the size is, usually Honda has the nut/bolt size listed. However, if it is not listed it may not be a common SAE/Metric size. It's a trim nut it will be unique, if there is a Honda dealer nearby cough up the couple of bucks they want, order it Monday, you will have it by Tues/Weds.

A hardware store is unlikely to carry the size and thread pitch.

This link shows dimensions:

.7 thread pitch? Wow, yeah the only things that hardware store will have if they are well stocked will be 1.0/1.5/2.0 for metric.

Honda dealer it is.
