Kozy's 2002 Accord Type R
Took a few photos at the weekend as I want to add the ATR to my catalogue of metal etch blueprint designs so needed some square on & perspective free shots (rare) to work from.
For those of you that may not be familiar with this model, it's had the standard Type R work over from the base spec Accords:
Engine:
H22A7 209bhp and 159lbft.
Short ratio U2Q7 gearbox with helical LSD.
Interior:
Standard Type R spec, non sound deadening, Recaro seats, Momo wheel & spartan dashboard controls.
(Google images - Not my car's interior)
Suspension/Brakes/Wheels:
7jx17" wheels 225/45/R17 Goodyear Eagle F1A2 on mine.
300x28mm front discs with twinpot calipers, 260mm rear discs.
Double wishone front, multilink rear. Big ARBs and pretty firm spring and dampers for a factory car.
Mine is basically standard apart the new Solidfabs cat back, an iPod interface on the standard headunit and a braided clutch line. Will probably get a suspension refresh with a Bilstein B12 kit later this year if it doesn't get sold to fund a house purchase!
Fantastic cars for the money, they can be had as cheap as £1000 over here and genuinely drive like a scaled up DC2-R.

Re: Kozy's 2002 Accord Type R
*Looks new from a distance.
It's a good example for the 131,000 miles it's done, but it's got certainly it's fair share of battle scars up close. It's the family car and daily hack for my wife, it rarely gets cleaned let alone polished.
Since I got the new exhaust on this weekend (old one rusted out and snapped in the middle) I decided to wash all the winter grime off though.
Hopefully going to get a tow bar on it later this year, I want to use it tow my Miata to a track, then pound both of them round the circuit.
