Default Stock GSR sleeves taken to 84MM

I understand that this is a big no no, but has anyone here tried it?

Has anyone here just decided to give it a go and had good results?

Im talking for a simple all motor build. Ive actually seen one bored to 84mm and the sleeves being as strong as they are stock, still look pretty beefy.

Any input or people with real world experience?

Physically the cylinders will NOT accept them at that bore. If you want to destroy a good GSR block with your experimentation, fine, but you'll find NO answers regarding to your question in the positive, because it isn't done.

And yes, they will destroy themselves very quickly.

Good luck.

What shocked me is the machine shop who bored it out said it should be no problem.

The blocks sleeves were already beyond 82mm. So the only options were bore to 84 or re sleeve.

So the machine shop said it would be completely fine at 84mm.

Absolutely.... Your machine shop is INCORRECT.
Time to resleeve or get another block.
