Belt replacement 99 civic sedan
Hi there
I have a 1999 civic dx 4 door from Canada
Anyone know of any how to guides for replacement of the power steering belt, a/c belt and alternator belt. These belts havent been changed since owning the car in 1999 so I figure its about time to change them. The a/c belt is also making an annoying sqeualing noise that is very noticeable.
Also the car is at 200000kms right now, what maintenance should I look at doing?
I am going to do fuel filter, oil and filter change, spark plugs and wires, dizzy cap. and the belts mentioned above if I can figure out how.
Timing belt and water pump were done 50 k ago so those are fine.
thanks!

Re: Belt replacement 99 civic sedan
Replacing the belts is pretty straightforward other than you have to remove the driver's side lower torque mount to replace the A/C compressor belt. If they're the original OEM Honda belts they will normally last almost indefinitely, normally when they do go it's because the component they're supposed to turn has seized.
Replace with OEM Honda belts unless you want to deal with squealing belts again in the very near future.

Anyone have any tutorials, ive seen a couple on youtube but they arent detailed at all

Support the engine from underneath if you're paranoid about it. However the upper engine mounts are still intact. It should not move.
I would also suggest you download a copy of the FSM before you touch anything.
