Help with immobilizer issues
My son has a98 accord exv6 with intermittent non starting. Main fuel pump relay is good, good battery voltage. The green immobilizer light keeps blinking when not starting. I know there is an immobilizer module on the ECU that can be defeated with after market mobilizer replacement.(should I be going here?) Is there also a seperate unit under the dash that recognizes the transponder in the key. I know this is touchy for security reasons but I don't know how to proceed. We have three keys that all previously worked but all fail intermittently.

Re: Help with immobilizer issues
You can check hondata's website as it has information on removing it but it only works on certain vehicles. I'm not sure if yours is an option.
I assume you tried all three keys ? If they all do it then it's possible the issue is either the transponder or the ecu.
Your best bet on this is probably going to be the dealer...or you can try to find a Honda/Acura mechanic specialist.

Re: Help with immobilizer issues
the car always cranks. if it were a transponder issue would the starter still engage? I am trying to determine if the issue is on the ecu or not. the dealer will likely swap the ECU and recode new keys($$$$).

Re: Help with immobilizer issues
No, the immobilizer only disables the fuel system. It should still crank.
