95 Si K Swap - Slow Build (Round 2)
For those that know me, I attempted to build a drag/track EG a few years back. I was a little more than halfway in when the economy shat itself and my wife lost her job. Sold the shell, held onto the parts and have been in a holding pattern for a long time...until now.
Here's a pic of my first attempt at a Kswap:
Here's my newest project:
Here's the interesting part of my build....I have 98% of the parts to do this swap. I'm just lacking time. (My Si needs some body work too...but I'm not sure if I'll be tackling that or just biting the bullet and paying for it to be done.)
Specs:
2002 K20a2 (stock motor)
RBC
Karcepts RBC adapter
Karcepts CAI
Karcepts radiator and coolant brackets
SSR Header
AEM FPR
Golden Eagle Fuel Rail
Hybrid fuel lines
Hybrid Mounts
Hybrid AC Swap Kit
Hybrid Power Steering Kit
Hybrid Kswap harness
K-Tuned Bolt on Rad kit
ACT Flywheel
Exedy Clutch
Megan exhaust (black)
Hybrid testpipe
New Denso O2 sensor
Hondata Kpro
Suspension
Koni yellows with GC coilovers
Skunk 2 uppers
Ingalls rear camber kit
Hybrid stage 1 axles
(TBD) New rotors and pads, stock calipers
Exterior
Rota GT3s (Not the end goal wheel)
JDM 1pc spoiler
JDM side moldings
Interior
Recaro Speeds (black and red)
Hybrid Shifter box
Skunk2 6pd ****
Sparco Ring Steering Wheel
Wink Mirror
(TBD) Head Unit/speakers
I'm sure I left off a few parts here and there. I'll be posting updates as they come. I'm kind off all over the place with what I work on, so be patient.
Thanks,
Steve

YES! May the force be with you.
I totally understand with the time thing. It's tuff for me to get anything done on the hatch unless it's absolutely needed.

Re: 95 Si K Swap - Slow Build (Round 2)
How the engine was from when I started...
A little cleaning and Eastwood Aluma Blast paint
New Head gasket
Head on with properly tq'd and sequenced bolts:
Here's the valve train sitting there while I scour my garage for my BRAND NEW MISPLACED tube of Hondabond....
Once I get the valve train mounted, then it's just a process of putting all the parts back on and cleaning as I go. The minute the motor is fully assembled I should have been able to make up my mind about the body work.
More to come, I'm motivated.

Yeah for now. If I go boost, it'll be with a jackson sc. I LOVE my header and don't want to bail on it.

Found my Hondabond!
Cam assembly bolted and tq'd
Timing set per the Honda Manual
Waiting on another delivery of Alumablast from Eastwood so I can finish up my timing chain cover and then I can temp bolt on a VC while I get the transmission cleaned up and then bolted on the motor.
I swear I'm going to finish this project...

Re: 95 Si K Swap - Slow Build (Round 2)
It's staying stock until I'm able to drive around in it for at least a few months/1 yr. After that, I have plans on going SC (no turbo since I love my SSR header).
I'll get the motor built up, new cams and minor head work (springs/retainers and seats) prolly.
However, since it's not a daily, it'll prolly be more than enough for a while...at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Orders have been delayed due to the storm. Hope everyone affected by it is staying safe. I'll try to get some things organized and prepped for the next round in the mean time.

Gonna be good! That block looks nice. Should be really nice having a/c and p/s. I don't blame you when you have the Florida heat and humidity.

Yeah, I'm not looking to break any hp barriers. I just want a clean swap with all the amenities.

Re: 95 Si K Swap - Slow Build (Round 2)
Made some progress today. Cleaned up and painted the the timing cover, water passage and upper coolant neck. Temp mounted them (still need a few bolts from Honda before I seal it up.
I also put my red vc on (which has imperfections from subpar powder coating...I'll be getting it redone...not sure I'm even staying with red at this point.)
The teal cover will stay on for the duration of the build while the motor gets moved around. Also tossed my satin black RBC on there to see it all together.

Re: 95 Si K Swap - Slow Build (Round 2)
Wedge Engineering brackets and sliders ordered today. Will take about 6 weeks to get. I'm also going to be getting the car ready for a few quotes on body/paint work. I'm hoping to have this dropped off the first week of January ... fingers crossed.
