S2000 Steering Wheel on Gen 5 Accord
I have been looking into the possibility of putting an S2000 steering wheel on my 94 Accord. From what I read, the conversion works on a 96-97 but not on a 94-95, the reason being the plug for the airbag unit is different. Probably because mine is OBD1 and the S2000 and 96-97 are OBD2. It seems like you could just change the plug, but there may be more to it than that. And I don't want to airbag to blow up in my face while driving to the grocery store. I could delete the airbag, but if there was a collision and the insurance company found out the bag was deleted they may use it as an excuse not to pay. So, does anyone have any experience with this conversion? Is there a way around it?

As long as you have an AP1 airbag, or 04/05 AP2 (look at google to see how the covers look a bit different), you are fine. Just basically have to cut and splice on the correct plugs. As long as the wires are spliced and sautered correctly, there is nothing to fear. Plenty of people have done it.
The 06-09 AP2 airbags are the issue, as they are dual stage, and thus will not work properly on a car not equipped for them.
I personally have an AP2 wheel, with an AP1 airbag, fully functional including cruise control.
