I'll be racing this at the 2012 NASA HPD Honda Challenge National Championships in September in H1.

It's got a 50kw motor/generator attached to the flywheel and a battery pack sitting next to the driver.
There are three different types of hybrid energy storage systems. Flywheel, Capacitor & Battery. Audi hybrid race car uses flywheel, Toyota hybrid race car uses capacitor & I'm not sure what the Honda hybrid race car is using. It's scary if these cars wreck though. If something went wrong, the driver or an assisting worker could be electrocuted touching both the vehicle & ground at the same time. In the even of a crash, all electrical systems must be disabled before anyone can even touch the car to aid the driver. This was a big deal when the Toyota had a 200mph crash at Le Mans this year.
Here's the CRZ engine bay:

Pretty cool. It just doesn't SOUND like a Honda. I think that rear diffuser will puncture the radiator of anybody getting too close in the draft.

That would be d nice car to have on the street & it's the perfect use of a j swap. J swap in fwd Honda = useless J swap in a RWD crz = ridiculous yet practical if they would ever decide to release a street version of this crz it would make the model priceless.

What would you call it? It looks like a race car to me. Really cool vision to who ever designed it. Lots of work and engineering went into this one. I'd consider it an impressive build.

Absolutely great work on that car. Awesome engineering and execution. Wish there was a competitive class for it in some popular US based series. Let's see some time attack competition.
