What gas lens and what size cup is best for me
Hey guys i'm new to welding and ive been posting a few pics on here of my work and i've gotten a lot of good info. So thanks to everyone who replyed. I have been told from a lot of people to get a gas lens and ive herd a lot of people talking about get the biggest size cup as i can get. Right now i'm just practing all sorts of different joint types on 1/8 inch mild steel. Hopfully to get good enought to actually start some kid of project. My question is for what I'm doing would I benifit from a larger cup and a gas lens or should I wait till i'm better and try a manifold project ? I'm useing a miller diversion 165 so if I would benifit from one what would you guys susgest. Size wise.
Thanks Brian

Chances are you have a wp17 torch.
You need a #12 gas lens, you can get them from ebay, I recommend "welding city"

Normally you need the cup, gas lens, gas lens isolator, and some times a collet.
If you post up some pics of your welding torch, I could maybe direct you to some part numbers to use @ "welding city"

I found that Airgas has better prices on lens and cups than E-Bay does. They are a large nationwide welding supply store and you may have one in your area.
You'll likely need a specific collet for the gas lens you buy, as well as the cups.
