My mother has a honda fit/jazz in the UK. She bought it in 2008 and isnt sure if she was sold a 1.4 or a 1.5. After a quick check on iki it seems the UK got the 1.4 instead of the 1.3 and I know the engine doesnt say VTEC. Should the engine code be stamped on the bellhousing of the gearbox like on most if not all other hondas?

Also is there a company that does brake upgrades for the jazz, the brakes are a bit poo and prone to brake fade.

Hey goto http://www.checkmycar.com/ and enter the VIN - it will tell you the engine size, country of manuf. etc.

also you should have a sticker under your hold that will tell you. also you can look in the service manual.

if your in the uk check on the cars documents. will definatly say on them.
