Default ITR rear seats in an 88 crx?

Is this possible? I'm willing to modify things and drill for bolts or weld or whatever, I just want to know if they'll fit. I love the black with red stitching look.

Yes I'm aware that back seats are next to useless in a CRX. I still want them.

Simply put...NO
No amount of fabrication will make them fit. The reason is because the CRX rear seat and plastic panels are much much smaller than the integra rear seats. If you somehow welded bracket you would not have interior plastics which would equal FAIL

My car is already gutted to the metal so I don't care about interior plastics. Would the seat fit without the interior plastic?

Whats the point of having ITR rear seats in a gutted car???
Even if it could be done it would look terrible without the plastic pieces surrounding the seats.

My CRX has 4dr civic back seats in it. I had to cut the plastic parts to make it fit. Anything is possible with a little know how. The question is do you want to pay for the seats then build a bracket, and take the time to fabricate it all. The butt part of the seat is just foam rubber with a wire frame wrapped in cloth. It is easy to anchor to the floor just watch out for the gas tank. The back has a nice metal plate that is great for welding a bracket to. IDK how wide the ITR seats are but they should fit if you do it right. Civic type R will prob fit better with the width. The gap can be closed with cloth inserts as well, but it has to be done right or it will look terrible like stated above.

Thanks for the useful information. I found a very clean looking JDM ITR rear seat for $200 locally. Add in time and fabricating cost and it will still probably cost me less than the $350-$400 I keep seeing for JDM CRX rear seats.

Will do!

I'm picking up the seat on Monday morning, but I probably won't get around to the install for a week or two. I'll put up an install thread though.

I don't understand what you are trying to do here. You put the back seat in so you can have people sit on them, right? Then you cut holes and put speakers, and seat belts right at the middle, with a battery on the bottom. That will make sure no one would be sitting in the back. Cuz I'm sure as hell won't be sitting on the top of that Optima battery. Why didn't you leave it stock and put the speakers where they are supposed to be, and the battery in the trunk area? Wouldn't that be cleaner and make more sense?

On a side note, nice work of putting another car rear seat on the CRX. That right there took time and love to get done. Got to give you prop for that.

Thanks for the kind words guys. The seats were functional when i first put them in, i wish i had pics, i even slept in the back one night. They looked great back then. They are a little rough now. Through the years i added stuff, The battery was in the trunk area but the sub took up too much room so i moved it. The battery used to be hidden under the seat but it died one day and the only way to get to it to jump it was to cut the cloth. Then i added the Corbeau Forza style seat and needed a safe mounting place for the seat belts. I left the seats in place because they dampen the exhaust note mainly, and modified them to suit the diff mods. The speakers happened one day when i was bored after i had already killed the bottom. One of these days i am gonna fix it all to where it looks good again. I just gotta get time.

If you saw my car in person 99 you would see that it is one of the nicest CRX's left in the world. Nothing about my car is ruined. The seat was an experiment, and for a time it looked like it came from the factory that way.
