Hey Guys,

Has anyone been able to find a place that has the Hankook RS3s in stock? Preferably I'm looking for a 224/45/15.

I've talked to TireRack directly and they said that even Hankook doesn't know when they're going to get stock again It sucks because this was one of the only 225 series street tires.

I wanted to see if anyone knew anywhere that had stock on them or knew why they are so hard to get right now, is Hankook discontinuing them?

I bought two RS3's a few weeks ago they didn't have a shortage, they are fairly new so I don't think they would be discontinued.

Discount tire told me at least 60-90 days today.

My order at tire rack has been in for a month now. I called them yesterday and they told me it would be at least 2-3weeks until they had an approx. date.

I got Track days coming up in a month or so. I think I'm just gonna go for NT01s. O well.

don't know if this is an option for you but I got mine through Inlinefour a few weeks ago. I called them in the morning and they had them by 4:30 that same afternoon. Don't know where they get them but same day delivery is always great

Only other 225/45/15 that I know of is the Toyo R1R but those are an old compound design and Grassroots has done tests and they are pretty slow compared to "newer" compounds.

If you're ordering from somewhere, ask for the date stamps on the tires if you can. I ordered some RE-11s from Tire Rack a month ago, and they were 23-09 date stamped...

What do you guys think about using the 225/50/16 RS-3's? i know it's a bit tall at 24.9", but i might need tires b4 the 225/45/15's are back in stock. Would be going on an EG hatch and 16x7 Rota Slipstreams. Thanks.

I've seen 225/50/15's on an ITR and they filled up the wheel wells pretty good. You're talking about an inch larger diameter...

Obviously reading is not your strong suit. OP is looking for 15s, not 17s or 18s.

i hear ya. are there any 225/50/15's out there that will perform like the rs-3? i can't think of any that would compare.

i was only thinking of the 16" ones because i've stuffed 25" slicks and 26" drag radials on the car, but of course the ride height is up there and that is only on the front, so who knows what a 24.9" tire will hit in the rear. i don't think my camber adjustment will allow me to get the car low enough to be worth it...oh well. i'll just have to wait it out.

There are the Advan A048s I believe in 225/50/15. They are pricey though

Drew you might be interested in the Kumho XS in 215/45/16. These fit well on my car. I know they arent exactly what you want, but they are another option.

Also you can call http://www.racetire.com/products/products.htm they might have some RS3's in stock.

Cool, thanks. the XS is definitely an option. i originally wrote them off because they didn't have a wider 15" option like the rs-3. Any pics on your car?

Sorry to the OP since i kinda hi-jakced the thread to a 16" size. I f i source the hankooks i'll PM.

Every place says mid June. So I ended up getting the nt01s. Should last 5-7k miles. Where the rs3 last almost 10k miles. Owell at least I know the nt01 is a better tire but 40$ more a tire. Should fit my 9" 6 uls nicely.

Sorry it took me long to reply, I don't visit H-T as often...

I bought them off Tire Rack, shipped to me in 2 days, no issues with back orders or anything of that nature. I think its kind of odd that all of a sudden there is a huge shortage.

I ended up just buying 205/50/15 star specs, I couldn't wait and there's an 80$ rebate. After reading the new grassroots i really did want the rs-3's though.

Yep everybody stocked up for summer track days. Hopefully by the time I wear my set out they will be back in stock.

so i went on Tire rack over the weekend and it was showing the 225/45/15 back in stock. ordered them and they showed up on 8/30. They are still showing this size in stock if anyone is interested. just wanted to share.
