How astute of you. Really though, people assume my male friends are the owners of my cars even when they are the passengers.

Looking back they might have no been able to see through the tinted windows though.

I seriously hate threads like this. They just make me realize that I have no time to work on the cars sitting at my house right now....

Nice score on the car, and good on ya for restoring.

Sucks, but hopefully you'll end up with some time in a bit at least.

This car needs a little TLC because I think it sat for awhile. So far all the bolts in the wheel wells seem virgin, though someone has screwed around with the interior before (few non-OE bolts in there).

Thanks. I can't stand letting a car rot. This car is so close to perfect that I might as well put a little work into it. Who knows, maybe I'll sell it here a bit down the road. Only the new owner won't need to deal with the seized axle.

Oh, and today my lift supports for the hatch came in and I'm going to go get a sledge to help get that axle out of there. We had none last night and it was too late to get one.

nice pick up, btw. please keep it clean. always actually liked the honda blue interior. think about maybe scooping up some 90-91 goodies-taillights, moldings, bumpers. your call though.
enjoy

Got the car back together finally! New axles and front brake pads.

Then I drove up north and picked up a set of floormats (appear to be aftermarket replicas, maybe DS Tuning), sun visors, seatbelts and buckles, and the personal box with carpet.

I'm hoping to remove the carpet from the new box and put my carpet on it since mine is way cleaner.

So Jason drove the CRX last night while I stayed home. Just like the first time he drove the Prelude without me, he got pulled over by a cop.

I swear it's like I'm a good luck charm or something. lol

Lol, owned. Did he get a ticket?

No. The reason he got pulled over is because the temp tag was in the tinted rear glass at the bottom of the hatch. That's just where the dealership put it and I left it there. The cop couldn't see it and the car currently has no other plates on it since I removed the expired plates that I won't be using anyway. Apparently the cop even put his high beams on and couldn't see the tag. Spotlight, nothing. lol

With the Prelude the cop had pulled him over after Jason dropped me off for jury duty. Within five minutes Jason had been pulled over because the car "is loud and yellow". I replaced the exhaust, but I'm sorry Mr. Officer, I will not be repainting the car to calm your sensitive tastes.

Speaking of repaint, that Prelude needs to go to the body shop here soon.

I'm jealous now. After all this time, I still haven't owned a CRX...test-driven one though. Nice find, NOFX.

Thanks. Set a little cash aside and start keeping your eye out for a clean example before they're all gone.

I wouldn't mind a yellow or red Si as well now (love sunroofs/moonroofs).

I cleaned up the engine bay a bit today. Dammit! Forgot to take a photo. Actually, it was probably too dark at that point. I'll try to remember to get one later on.

Also started cleaning the wheels, but they need to come off the car and get cleaned one by one to look really good.

Yesterday I picked up a few parts from turbohf, including a replacement personal trunk. The lid isn't as bent up as mine, but the carpet looks like oil spilt on it at some point. Also dog hair all over. lol so I vacuumed it a few times, wiped down the inside and sprayed Purple Power on the oil stains and steam cleaned it with a Little Green Machine. It could probably use another go over. I'd pressure wash it, but I don't think the lid would hold up very well to that!

It looks like it's cleaning up pretty decently though. I was thinking I might need to swap my carpet onto the new box, which sounds like more of a pain in the *** than I'd like to deal with.

Some of the other things I got from him: replica blue mats (DS Tuning, probably?), black Prelude mats (they say 87 and 88 on them, which is two gens?), sun visors, seat belts and buckles.

I also picked up new brushes for my alternator. Not looking forward to that. So tired of alternators needing to be pulled around here and I'm not too strong so I always need help.

I'll try to get some photos up tomorrow.

I need a daily. Or to teach the fiance how to drive a manual. We dropped her Del Sol off at the shop yesterday and her being unable to drive my car makes things inconvenient sometimes.

The undercarriage is covered in oil. Hopefully it's just the PCV valve or the valvecover gasket. But it's something that's pretty tough to investigate and it's either something minor or something "oh ****." Just bought the car a few weeks ago and the fiance is used to having a no maintenance 2007 FG sedan, haha.

Gotta love these old cars though, She felt a lot better when I asked her if she'd rather spend a few hundred bucks a year on maintenance, or $350 a month on a car payment.

So since the CRX is still one of only two reliable cars we have on the road here (other being Jason's del Sol), Jason brought it to have lunch with his mom this morning. As soon as he got there the passenger axle popped out. F***!

Last time that friend will work on my car. Problems with the whole installation.

So here's how the CRX sat for about three days.

Due to this. The passenger axle stuck in the hub.

Once we got the axle free though we also did front brake pads. Old ones:

Here's what I'm dealing with interior-wise. I already managed to find a blue personal trunk and carpet from turbohf. Someone sat on my personal trunk.

Passenger side. I think those are DS Tuning floormats. Picked them up from turbohf a few days ago.

My seats aren't white on the inserts btw. That was just my crappy cell phone camera. This is what the fabric actually looks like.

My center console. The Kenwood deck came with the car. I wish my shift boot fit better. Everything works and everything lights up.

My cluster and my giant stock steering wheel on my stock non-tilt column.

The dashboard. When I got the car there were some cupholders velcroed/stickied to the dash and lots of crud around them. Mostly gone now though.

And here's the passenger seat I want to replace so badly. I keep a t-shirt over it for now since, as you can see, the foam falls out all the damn time and makes a nice mess. It sticks to your clothes too.

And today's adventure.

But the CRX is all back together now. I had a shop I know put this axle in (1) just to be sure and (2) because Eran was tired of messing with the car and I'm just not strong enough.

I realized I never posted a photo of my engine bay. Here it is before we cleaned it a little today. I'd already sprayed it down and degreased it a little before this though.

Thanks. Hopefully this will help me learn a little about CRXes and 4G Civics.

Those mats don't have any sort of markings on the backside like most Honda mats would have. The CRX logo has also almost entirely worn off. We suspect these are probably a replica mat, such as the ones DS Tuning used to make before Honda sent them a C&D.

Went to a meet at Pacific Raceways today. Funny thing was some people actually did stop and check it out a little.

My friend and I did get a little giggle when someone told Eran how, "Those Starks are rare man. Only set at the meet." My friend has a rarer set of Starks sitting at home and apparently my little white 13s are rarer than Eran's Starks too. Eran's Starks are super clean though, what with that fresh powdercoat and all.

Please excuse shitty photo. None of us brought a real camera. Only camera phones.
