Default Looking at a Type R again

It's been about 7 years since I owned a Honda, and I'm looking at this Type R:

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...07&CMP=usedInv

I noticed in the engine bay picture that the intake manifold appears to be from a GSR. Am I seeing things? It's been a long type since I've looked at Type R engine bay pics - is there anything else weird with this car?

Edit: Damn, just realized that Honda-Tech remembers my original join date. Thanks for the help guys.

Taken from the description:

Seller's Notes:
Type R model for the track, B18C1 motor for daily driving, hatchback utility, frugal with fuel, excellent reliability and resale value. Clean title clean carfax, REAL TYPE-R, Come see us today! CARFAX AVAILIBLE FOR EVERY VEHICLE IN STOCK!!

*** I do not see a VIN on the tranny so the whole swap has more than likely been replaced based on what he mentioned about the b18c1. ITR is b18c5.
*** The Rear hatch seems to have been shaved also.

correct the IM is from a GSR, they probably swapped a complete GSR engine in cuz im pretty sure GSR and Type-r have different IM bolt patterns IIRC

and why shave the emblems on a REAL type-r....seems like a type-r clone to mee

Thanks 99SlammedCivic, I should have seen that. That's too bad, but funny. B18C1 for daily driving...

I think you're right. Although it's not definitive, I also noticed that it does not have a Type R strut tower bar either.

I believe this was on sale from another dealership for $8k-9k last year and somebody bought it and sold it, etc. etc.

I also believe this might be a salvage title.

Carfax looks to call it a Type R.

I think it's priced way too high. Stick around and you will find a much better deal.

8th vin digit is 1 so it was a c5 unless I'm mistaken. They're dreaming for 14k. from the look of it and previous posts, car was in an accident at some point someone bought it took the c5 and sold it again with a c1. You can have a **** ton of body work and still have a clean title if it didn't meet the 80% rule.
