I recently bought a car that was running a D15B Vtec i had a rod shatter and can't find a replacement rod also it's running PM3 pistons/rods can i put my head onto a d16z6 and have it run and will it be worth it? or should i swap the d16z6 pistons/rods into my d15 block since they are the correct length? won't the d16z6 block with my d15b vtec head put out more power since it's a larger displacement?

the d15b vtec rod is the exact same rod as the z6 and y8. basically the big journal 1.6 D series rod.
as far as the pistons, they are customs pistons. they have the wrist pin moved up a bit to house the longer rod. the block is a D15 block. or a Z1 block. you just need to use the actual d15b or Z1 crank to run the d15b vtec rods/[piston combo. also the d15b(non multi stage vtec one, more or less the obd1 engine) head is the same as a z6 just with a slightly larger cam.

Or just find a 1.6 block and call it a day

Get a d16a6 or d16y7 block for best results

the d15b block has a rod ratio similar to that of a b16b or a b16a. its a nice stout oem D series bottom that can handle alot

i ended up just getting a z6 block and putting my head on it. since it's the P08 head will i just time it as if it's a z6 or change it up a bit since it's a different cam?
