How hard is it to change the timing belt on a d16z6
Scale 1/10
Is it something that is better to be done at a shop or can you test your abilities with it?
Thanks.

jack up your car and put it on jackstands
remove your front drivers side wheel
get a block of wood and your jack, put the block of wood under your oil pan and jack it up until its pushing the motor up a little bit
unbolt the drivers side motor mount, and take it off
there are 3 bolts on the upper timng belt cover and also 4 bolts on your valve cover
unbolt those, take off our upper timing belt cover and valve cover
you will now be able to see your cam gear and the top of the timing belt
there are 3 bolts on the lower timing belt cover
take that off
the smooth pulley in the middle is the tensioner
loosen that
belt slides off
check mechanicall timing
check it again
put the new belt on
everything goes back together in reverse
i can take pictures of anything and highlight if needed
maybe a 3-4 hour job for a first time

^^also pull the tensioner all the way back tha tighten the bolt, then put the belt on release tention to make the belt tight, routate the engine about three theeth forward to get any slake out and tight the tensioner bolt, rotate the engine back to top dead center and make sure you are still on the marks then put back together, 1-10 i'd give it a 3 pretty simple
