Re: EG Hatch street-drag build.
For the guy that needed a rim pic with the screws. I don't think you need 20 total, 10 front 10 back like I did on these. I wonder if 10 total, 5 front and 5 back would do it. They don't slip a lot without screws...so... I suppose it's a personal thing.

Re: EG Hatch street-drag build.
Haven't posted for a while. Our track is having it's first event of the season THIS weekend. It's 1/8 mile, but better than nothing. I was having trouble on the 1-2 shift (of all the things to have trouble on)... when we were out at Woodburn... I went out tonight and really analyzed what the car wants on that shift. Pulling straight back wasn't making it happen. turns out I need my right elbow to be tight to my body and pull at a slight angle... Who knows. All I know is the last 4 times like that, it was perfect. On the other car my elbow is 6" out from my side, straight back.
Just gotta keep my head in the game. I've been telling my buddys locally that I just want to just get in the 7's.... I really want mid to low 7's I'd be quite happy with a 7.50@96-100 in the 1/8th.
Going to make a few passes on the 24.5's and then a few on the 25's. Gonna be fun taking a pump gas car to the track (with it's CD player and powered sunroof) ...lol.... Unless it rains, we'll find out this weekend how she finally does. I wish we'd have set the car up with boost by gear... I'm confident I'm going to have trouble with traction as before with the hotrod car. BUT, mid season last year they did lay down 400 feet of concrete. I haven't been on it since the concrete addition.
I never got the hotrod car to do better than a 7.02 at Malta due to limited traction over there. Boost way down to 15-19psi, blowing the tires off crossing the line.
I'll shoot some video while were down there. Hopefully I won't embarrass myself to bad. Always fun though.

Nice car and good luck with it.

Re: EG Hatch street-drag build.
You will have no problem running those times with this car. I made about 100whp less than you on pump gas and was able to run those times (mid 7's @ 97mph) in a slightly lighter EG on old 22" slicks. Once you get a little seat time high 6's should not be a problem for you at just over 100mph. This was also done on no boost controller and just off the wastegate spring.
Nice car and good luck with it.

Not bad for pump gas in a Daily Driver. It's ridiculous power on the street... Not that I'm complaining... on the street, you better get used to doing roll-ons and wasting the tires in 3rd. ... so I've been told...

Re: EG Hatch street-drag build.
Weather was CRAP... so we didn't go. *BUMMIN* 50 degrees and 35 mph continuous winds blowing right at you on the track, gusts to 45-50mph... and intermittent rain... JUNK WEEKEND... *sigh*
another race in 2 weeks.
Maybe M&H will have his 9.5/24.5-13 back in stock by then.

Re: EG Hatch street-drag build.
Just got back from the track!!
Weather was great for a change. In my minds eye, I had estimated that I would be content with the car on pump gas running 7.50@95. Got dang close.
For some first runs on the car, I was quite happy. Did the first 3 passes with slicks at 7.5psi, and just wasted them in 2nd and third. Dropped to 5.5 pounds and things got a lot better. Lot's of rookie mistakes with missed shifts. Need some equipment upgrades.
Firstly... FIRST PASS WITH THE CAR... (.500) reaction... how cool is that.
1/8th mile, runs are shown in order.
60'..........ET...........mph
1.735-----8.069-----89.11 (blew the tires off in 2nd and 3rd, missed 3rd)
1.692-----7.640-----89.46 (spun, let off in 3rd until it caught and planked it again)
1.700-----7.830-----88.93 (blew out 2nd and third, tires 7.5-8psi, missed 2nd...)
1.694-----7.449-----93.75 (tires at 5.75-6psi, stuck it pretty well in 2nd- 3rd.)
1.707-----7.883-----74.63 (this run felt GREAT... missed 3rd.)
1.711-----7.570-----92.40 (good shifts, tires at 5.5, hotter, in the afternoon)
1.743-----7.611-----92.78 (good shifts, tires 5.75, car was warm, hot lapped).
I was happy with where it ended up, The last 2 runs felt good. I think the MPH was down because the tires were so flat... I'd say with some tuning, it's a solid 7.40 car. For as heavy as it is, on pump gas, I'm quite pleased with this first day at the track. I recall the hotrod car running similar ET's the first days at the track until I figured out how to dive it better and how much boost and where. Our track has improved as well. Almost all concrete now and the traction on the bigger end wasn't as bad as it used to be.
Impressions, I have WAY to much shifter slop and throw, caused a LOT of missed shifts. Way to much clutch pedal movement and I'm feeling I need to bail on the 24.5 tires and run 25's like on the hotrod car. I like what they did for the other car. Need to put boost by gear in the car. Be nice to take just a "few" pounds out of first gear. Need 3 piece front end to clear the 25's and to re-gear the car a touch more favorably so it's more wound out in 3rd in the 1/8th mile. Maybe a slight FDR change so that it traps at say 95-98 on the 25's at 9200. 3rd felt restricted, like it was just starting to REALLY pick up when I hit the finish line.
Other than that, car was great. Shifter mechanism needs the most attention right now.

Re: EG Hatch street-drag build.
How much does it weigh??
92-93 trap in the 1/8th is probably a 115-118 trap int he 1/4, if the boost is the same in all gears.. i went 118 this weekend with a 94 mph 1/8th
edit: are you shifting 4th before the end of the 1/8th??
