5th gen prelude h23a vtec swap?
ok well i have a 5th gen prelude and my stock h22 gave out after 265k miles. well i tought of buying an obd1 h22a but later found out that it wont work because of the oil pump sensor. so after looking for odb2 h22's they are prety pricy. and i found a h23a vtec blue top for 900 shipped to my door. now does the obd2 h23 oil pump have the sensor? and will it run ok on my stock ecu? is it a pretty straight foward swap? thanks everyone. oh and i have a 99 base model prelude if that info is needed

All JDM H-series motors had all crank sensors in the distributor, regardless of year.
I have heard (on the internet) that some late model JDM H22s got a US style oil pump which does have provision for the sensors to easily bolt on. That's not something I've personally seen on JDM H22s and I wouldn't assume it to be the case on your engine.
