How to Adjust Accord A/C cable?? (Air-Mix Control Cable)
Ok so, its like 110 degrees here in LA. Time to finally adjust my A/C so that it works properly damn-it. Can someone with the factory manual post how to adjust the "Air Mix Control Cable" from pages 21-24 & 21-25? The Haynes doesn't have this procedure....
ripped from deja.com
"A lot of 94' Accords experienced problems with the temp control dial cable
(air mix cable) coming out of adjustment. My 94 Accord LX suffered from
inadeqaute AC cooling because the air mix valve wasnt fully closed even
though the **** was set on the coolest setting. Once I had the cable
adjusted the AC was nice and frigid. If you experience play in the temp
**** before you actually feel the cable pull, it is out of adjustment. If
you have a 94 manual check out page 21-24 & 21-25 "Air Mix Control Cable""

if its anything like my 91 LX .. which it probobly is:
under the airhander you will see the cable hooked to the flapper. i loosened it and slid it back. i had the same problem too.. lukewarm air was pouring out, but the evaporator housing was ice cold. adjusting that cable fixed all my woes. nothing like heatercore air mixed with A/C in the summer

i just thought of something else, the foam seal on my flapper had dry rotted, so i removed the air handler and replaced the foam on the flapper with some weather stripping from Home Depot... even after i fixed the cable throw it was letting hot air past.

on the Gen4's ... temp control is handled by a cable that is moved in/out as you turn the temp control. that cable runs to the airhandler (under the dash in passenger foot area.) have someone move the control as you look up under there for the moving cable end. that cable has a bracket with a screw or small bolt you can loosen. you may then have the assistant turn the **** all the way to cold observe which way it goes and move the cable to allow it to close to a totally locked position.
like i said my exp applies to gen4's but i doubt much changed
