i was thinking to do a h2b with qsd kit on my da, can you get the car bard? i am up here in the bay, has anyone got a h2b bard da?

i know that if you go with qsd you will have to raise your hood, would it be a problem?

Raised hood won't be an issue. Neither would an aftermarket hood for clearance.

Using a different transmission than what comes with the donor engine will be.

No, you won't pass the BAR with H2B, at least if my understanding of the law is correct.

Shouldn't be an issue, depending on a few things.

Standard rules to pass an engine swap.
1) Donor engines comes from a same year or newer car.
2) Donor engine comes from the same class of vehicle (why the B20 won't pass, the CR-V is a "light duty truck")
3) All emissions equipment from the donor car are used.

There are some additional requirements, but those are the big ones.

Dang that sucks i was hoping to do an F2b swap and BAR it. My friend bought a BARd H2b eg from some dude. I wonder if he Bar'd the H22 with the h22 tranny then went ahead and did the h2b swap. Hrm.. Ill try and find out if my friend still has his contact.

but why can you get bard when you have a b16 tranny with gsr or type r motor? thats the same , you combine different motor and diferent tranny. why cant you pass with a h2b or f2b?

So I just talked to my friend and she has Bar'd an h22 with a b16 tranny. The guy she got the car from Bar'd it and when she got pulled over they made her Bar is again and she passed easily. Everything stock. Stock header and emissions parts are all there. Hope that helps

as long as you have all the emission related equip. and can pass the the emission test, your all good. tranny has nothing to do with it.

tranny shouldnt matter as it doesnt affect emissions. and btw a b20 can be bared, my buddy got his bared in a crx

i tought the b20 wasnt able to get bard since it was a suv motor? i think the only way you can bar it is by running it on propane.

U can bard b20 but first bard ls then bard b20. Appearently it a new replacement for ls motor since they becoming more less motor out there

California is not as strict about barring swaps as they used to be because they need money anyway they can get it now

And the best post for this thread goes to Da9Gro, also the post saying as long as all smog components from vehicle new engine comes from....you could get away with putting a 3.2 acura 6 cylinder as long as it blows clean they will bar tag it.

Also once its BAR tag'd and you get pulled over they will check to make sure no smog compents have been remove retest and send you on your way with no re-bar'in.

Yes a H2B can be barred, I just talked to a referee this week about it. I am wanting to do a H2B in my DB1, he said as long as all emissions stuff is for the H22 of the right year range it should be just fine. The tranny does not matter. you could reff a h22 rwd if you could install it all and have all the factory emission stuff.

what other information are you seeking? looks like everything has been covered about the process.. has to be same year/newer than the car you're putting it and it must have all donor car emissions hooked up + working properly.
