Help! P0172, P0302, P0170
Hi Guys,
I have a 97 Honda prelude and I have a CEL. I hooked it up to get the code and the its system too rich, cyl 2 misfire, and fuel trim bank 1. I cleaned the maf, changed the plugs/wires, distributor, and IAC. The problem still occurs. I smell a lot of fuel, the idle is rough at start, when coming in to a stop the rpm drops normally then the car just shuts off. Anyone with any idea will be great. Thank you.

Hey I know this is a pretty old post but I have a 98 civic ex and i'm throwing the same codes but 301 instead of 302 (cyl. 1 misfire) and also a p0420 code (catalyst system efficiency below threshold). My car idols really high around 2k rpm on cold starts and when it warms up a little bit the car idles really low and will most of time shut off at stop signs or red lights. After running car for awhile issues get better even though it still idles low it will not shut off anymore. Replaced knock,o2, and map sensor, cleaned then now put new IAC on car and problems still there. Car was throwing a p108 code also forgot to mention is why I replaced the map sensor even though it did not improve anything. My mechanic did say he found an exhaust leak near exhaust manifold could this cause the issues or might I have a faulty ECM?

It starts really affecting performance from there. The inaccurate o2 reading is reported to the ECU and the ECU adjusts idle (etc) to try to adjust for the rich/lean condition reported.
In theory, yeah...
