Auto trans 1st gear slipping?
My 6th gen 2.3 AT (with 102k) is starting to struggle deciding which gears to use from 1st to 2nd gear while slowing down then accelerating @ speeds around 10-15mph. If I accelerate hard in first gear, it will slip and over rev a little bit before it gets into 2nd. I can mostly avoid that problem by letting off the gas a little before it upshifts.
I am well-aware of the 6th automatic transmission failure rate, so I wont be suprised to hear if my trans is failing. *No blinking D4 light. But I've heard talk about "solenoid issues" that can cause these problems. Also, my automatic trans class instructor spoke about solenoid issues in Accords.
So I want to hear from HT what everyone thinks. If these solenoid problems could be solved, then it would save a lot of time & effort. How should I troubleshoot this problem?
