Replacing rotor on a 93 Accord, have questions...
sorry about bumping an old thread, but i can't make a new one yet. i attempted to replace the rotor on my 93 ex yesterday and ran into this same problem. i an confused about one thing though:
can the hub and rotor be removed (and a new rotor installed) once the spindle nut is removed, or does the whole axle have to come off?
what are the basic steps to replace a rotor?
i got this far:
jacked car up/removed lugs/removed wheel
removed caliper & brake pads
removed the 4 hub bolts
can the hub and rotor be removed (and a new rotor installed) once the spindle nut is removed, or does the whole axle have to come off?
what are the basic steps to replace a rotor?

It's true that the 4 hub bolts holds the rotor, but since this is a hub-over-rotor design, you need to remove or partly remove the steering knuckle...
(90-97 Accord have hub over rotor design, starting 98+, this design is no longer used)

yes i had one that i put 500lbs of tq on and it still wouldnt budge.
i actually snapped my 1/2 breaker bar trying!
rent a 3/4 in set from oreillys or somewhere and it should do the trick.
mine i ended up cutting with a cutting wheel because nothing would get it to budge.
if you end up having to do that, cut in to the nut until its very thin and then take a chisel and crack it a few times...it should break the small portion of metal left without damaging your axles threads.
op. look into a roh(rotor over hub) kit from tasauto...it comes with the bearings and hubs already pressed so its basically a bolt on affair.

drivers side
- slide the socket to the middle and put the bar on the nut horizontal
- 3 food pipe on left side, put your **** on it
- floor jack under right side of bar
- friend on brake pedal
- few pumps of the floor jack, off it comes.

no have someone push down on the hub and pull out the spindle on the rotor....use an ext. and hammer it into the spindle very lightly but it wont come out all the way you need someone to push down on the hub...

Hey look like you got this under control, but you don't have air impact that will do the job for the spindle nut and for the hub chisel and hammer all the around will do the job, "Sound like somebody having fun" Good Luck
