Tein VS Koni+GC VS Skunk2 VS Tokico HP's
i'm kinda of figuring out what to get for my suspension upgrade.
i have these 4 in mind. I drive a integra(DC). Please vote and then post why you chose it.
I don't autocross or go to the track or anything. Sometimes spirited driving.
Thanks

Koni + GC because that's what I had (still running the Koni Sport shocks).
Why did you list Tokico HP's as a choice? Those are just shocks. You didn't indicate what spring you would want to use with it.

More bang for the buck by far. Tein Basics are height adjustable only. With Koni + GC, you get an external rebound adjuster with infinite settings, and you can choose your own spring rates at no extra charge.
This is why I don't understand why so many people swing off Tein's nuts. Not saying you are but alot of people seem to be that way.

Koni / GC
Because 99% of any honda at national level autocross events has some type of Koni on it. Best bang for buck by far. Most grass roots racers use Koni. Great durability and factory support.
In STS last year at nationals almost all 42 (Maybe not exact) cars (All EF Si) wore Koni and ground controls. The select few had Moton's cause thay have 5g's to spend on shocks.
For you integra springs would be maybe 400f/550r but it really all depends on what you are doing with the car. just DD duty then go like 350f/400r. autocross little higher. Its all up to you on the springs.

Re: Tein VS Koni+GC VS Skunk2 VS Tokico HP's
if you are just doing street driving then I would recommend Tokico Illuminas with Eibach Pro-kits. I ran that setup for about 3 years and used it for auto-x and loved it. not harsh and didn't need to adjust camber at all
I just put on a set of the skunk2 pro-c's last year and they are very stiff... good for auto-x but not good for street driving
don't go with really stiff springs, you'll regret it

Well i've heard great things about Koni+GC and i was jsut wondering what springs rates i needed for DD.. so if the springs rates are higher, that means the ride is stiffer?

Re: Tein VS Koni+GC VS Skunk2 VS Tokico HP's
so i was talking to a guy from THmotorsports and he suggested 310front/350 rear for spring rates. i have no idea what is stiff and what is soft.

You should just go with what he recommended. You won't REALLY know what the numbers mean until you try the spring rates for yourself.

Re: Tein VS Koni+GC VS Skunk2 VS Tokico HP's
As for the rates: If the car is just street duty, stick with the standard rates in the GC kit. Sure the 250lb springs are relatively soft, but if your not auto-x'n or trackin the car it won't matter. You will love the rates GC picked for your chassis. They are stiff enough to let you go low, and soft enough they won't break your back.
Besides, you can always sell/trade your springs for something else later on in the auto-x/rr forum...

Re: Tein VS Koni+GC VS Skunk2 VS Tokico HP's
IMHO 310 is too soft for the front end of an Integra unless you're barely lowered at all. The guy I talked to at GC suggested 380 lb. 8" springs as a minimum for the front of an Integra. I would do 400 front and 300 or maybe 250 in the rear if I had to do it over again.
I used to have 450 lb rear springs and IMHO it was MUCH too stiff for my 100+ mile daily commute.

Re: Tein VS Koni+GC VS Skunk2 VS Tokico HP's
having a higher spring rate in the rear would promote oversteer, but ride comfort is lost. for example, 350F 450R.
it also depends on how low you wanna go.. i currently have 1 finger gap in front, .5 finger gap in the rear between the wheel and the fender arch on my em1. the lower you go, the stiffer you need.
go with 400F 300R.

Re: Tein VS Koni+GC VS Skunk2 VS Tokico HP's
bad experience with KONI and HR springs, I will not personally recommend them.
I have a 91 si civic. Koni circlip came off FUUUUUUUUUCC............... Wished I woulda went with Tein Basics. Was riding down the street and the roads where uneven and when the car hit that small change in roads my left front circlip that is mounted on the shock body slidded down and made a loud bang my tire was rubbing in my fender and I was just running on shocks the spring was not touching anything. I will never by KONI products again SUCKKKKKKKK and I spent over $540 dollars on those damn shocks. GO WIT TEIN BASIC OR ANY FULL COIL OVER SETUP.
