Re: EG Shell Project...
what are you worried about?? I mean it'll be a little more difficult to do than a b series swap.. just have to drill a hole in your fire wall for the shifter cables OR you could go under the car, the only downfall to going under the car with the cables is the heat off the exhaust could weaken the cables and they could stretch a little easier which is bad... but the other most difficult thing is getting the back mount to bolt up...

Re: EG Shell Project...
Might have found my LS motor that has been completely rebuilt. Comes with an LS Hydro Tranny.
My question is now: I originally wanted the GSR tranny because of the aggressive gears. If I am planning to boost which tranny would be better? LS or GSR?

Hey man I read your thread! If you need anything I can come help you out. Willing to learn something new.
But I would go the ls/turbo route! I am turbo'ing my d now. Just hit me up if you need help or eg parts.

I am sticking with my LS trans... for the LS/turbo that i am runing..... if you have the extra money i would prob get the GSR but i am on the interstate alot and i like to keep my RPM down specially since i am going turbo.... hopefully saves a little gas....
LS longer......(CHEAPER) lol
GSR short..

Re: EG Shell Project...
I was meaning the Gsr tranny...
Because it'll get you into boost quickly but the gears won't be too short.. it's good for racing.. but if you are going to be driving the car a lot on the highways and such like one has said, the ls would be the better tranny, even though the Gsr has a 4.40 final drive the gears aren't really that short in them.. but the Si tranny is def. not a transmission for your car since you are going boost...

Re: EG Shell Project...
So, basically I need to stick with the GSR tranny if I can afford to...or if I plan on driving a lot on the HWY I should go with the LS tranny?

Re: EG Shell Project...
yeah thats what all the research i have done has led to..... ls trans i think is better for a daily driver turbo rather than a GSR....... GSR will get you better ET's though..... i am thinking .5 sec faster and that is being real liberal about it....
