i just got out of this problem with my da9..
i had 12v to the blk/ylw wire to the dizzy(power to the dizzy)...
on the coil there's a +/- and the - did not ground,so there was no full circuit.it turned out to be my cas(crank angle sensor),and that stopped my spark dead in it's tracks at the coil.

if you are not getting power to the blk/ylw wire going to your dizzy, then you need to check your ignition switch or main relay. If that doesn't help, find the pin on the ecu that powers the distributor and make sure it is outputting the 12v.if not then you have a faulty ecu..

if you are getting power to the blk/ylw wire going to your dizzy, then you need to look into the distributor internals.most likely it is the coil, icm,or cas

you kinda already are certain its not the dizzy if you have 12v going to the dizzy ylw/blk wire...

Please forgive my newbie ignorance -- but how do I properly use my multimeter to check for voltage at the blk/ylw and ylw/grn wires? How do I check for voltage at the ignition coil?

I have a 1993 del Sol Si that's experience an intermittent no-start problem. I also got CEL code #15.

That helps a lot -- Thanks! I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

That link helped a bunch. Here are the readings I got. Any help regarding these readings would be fantastic.

The blk/ylw wire from the ICM got a steady 12v reading. The ylw/grn wire is getting voltage, somewhere around 4.1v with the key on in position II. My coil readings not match specifications. The primary coil resistance read at 26.1 ohms, while I couldn't get a good reading at all on the secondary coil -- the DMM was going all over the place.

So am I correct in assuming I have a faulty ignition coil?

Follow-up: (any help would be greatly appreciated)

I went ahead and replaced the ignition coil and so far, my car has been starting up great every time since. However, now the tachometer is doing this weird jumping thing when accelerating. I read online that I may have left some of the ignition wires on the ignitor loose, so I checked them earlier and made sure they were all securely fit. The tachometer needle is still jumping around. Any ideas on what could be causing that?

I have the green and yellow wire from the ecu fuse 12v but on the cabe right next to the plug its dropping voltage its that normal
