is your cam gear set to TDC also? both needs to be aligned. so set the crank pulley to tdc and the cam gear to tdc.

after you align both of those, i would check your ignition timing, even though i doubt 3 degrees off would make your car jerk. ive been off by 5 degrees before and no jerking, just a huge loss of performance.

You said you heard a loud pop from your exhaust and then the car would not go above 3000 rpm. The loud pop is fuel that was dumped through the exhaust because the engine didn't burn it. When was the last time you did a tune up? New spark plugs and wires would be a good start...

When the car's ECU does not allow you to rev past 3000rpm, you are in limp mode. This is the computer telling you that something isn't quite right.

yea. i guess. today i did new spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, i bought an o2 sensor for emmisions but have not put it on yet. so i went for a drive, and i was able to drive longer before the symptons started up again. it was not as bad as yesterday tho. how can i clean my injectors. i bought some injector cleaner, but say i wanted pull them off and clean them, how wud i do that?

ey i was reading about the limp mode, basically wat i understand is that the car cannot pass 3k rpm in any gear or neutral?
thats no tthe case with my car. if it's in neutral, or even first i can redline. but for example if im in neutral, and i rev up to say 6krpm, then let off for a sec, and hit it again, it starts sputtering, like it's not getting any fuel. or even if im driving and i shift to second and im going up a hill, something where it causes it to need more strength it won't, and if i down shift, it continues to sputter,if i keep the gas mached, the car acts like im not even on the pedal, until it hits around 800 rpm, and lets off a pop from the exhaust. does this still cal for limp mode?

its not as bad as it was yesterday because i did the plugs wires and fuel filter. im starting to think my injectors are clogged--bad?


also. how wud a bad o2 sensor affect me with this type of problem?

i noticed this morning a louder than usual sound coming from the fuel pump. like its kicking on and off almost or its purging really hard. but i dun get it. i've had fuel pump issues before. usually the car won't even start. my car starts quick and perfectly(imo). wassup with that.
has anyone else experienced this. a fuel pump that kicks on and off....
like is aid. my experience, is when they're dead...they're dead.

you should make a list and just go down it.

-Timing
-Ignition timing
-FPR ( check not stuck open )
-Map sensor ( check volts)
-Good ecu ( trade with friend)


It could be something really stupid ,like; a leaking spark plug tube seal, thats getting oil in your spark plug and interrupting the spark.

ey thanks to everyone for the help. i finally went to the emmisions but before i went in i thought lemme get some 93 octane, put bout 15 dollars in, and drove off. no more herky jerky. runs smooth as silk.


all along it was bad gas.

oh yea. i passed the emmisions

I need to ask since when did u change ur spark plug wire? the reason I ask cause we seem had the same issue what I did is I just changed the plug wire and the problem gone...

nah. i changed the plugs and wires and the problem continued so i jus said f*** it y me tire to go get my emmisions done, but i stopped for some gas on the way, after that, i haven't had the problem since.
