Default I need a tire recommendation please.

Okay,

So this is for my brother.

He has a 1998 civic hatch DX so the size should be 185/65-14
He has winter tires so he wants a summer tire.
His car is just a daily driver so he wants something that grips decently both in dry and wet but still has some tread life.
This car is not tracked.

Thanks all!

well there really aren't many summer tires made in that size almost all are all season which is probably your best bet if you want them to last and give good traction in both wet and dry.

Get the Yokohama ES100 in 195/60-14.

Falken Ziex Ze 912 are a nice summer/allseason tire. if he wants more grip at the expense of longevity, Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 are a good choice.

The Ziex ZE-912 is an all-season tire, NOT a summer tire. And it's pretty crappy. But it's cheap.

It was stated above that longevity and wet traction are both considerations. Which is why the Yoko ES100 is better than the Z212. (And if they weren't, the Azenis offers more grip than the Z212.)
