I have an accord 2000 and I'm looking to put some xenon headlights in. Im not familiar with this stuff so I'm just looking for suggestions of what kit i should get, what brand and stuff.

I've been looking at the xenith xenon kit 8000k but im not sure what bulb type to get for my car. I want the bi-xenon bulbs so that i'll have hi beams and low beams.

pricewise im not looking to go too high over $350.00.

any suggestion on what bulb type i should get? thanks.

retrofit....8K is too ricey in my opinion and I would recommend to go lower if u want HID. However, BI-XENON-type kits for halogen setups are worse than hi/low xenon kits for halogen. If you can, spend the $50 or so on sylvania ultras or get phillips x-treme for your accord. 4300K area is the target area you would want for whitest light output. But if you prefer the "cool blue" look, you're gonna regret it in the rain and snow .. and fog =X

I wouldn't suggest getting just a regular PnP kit. You should invest in having a retrofit instead. You'll be more pleased than just buying a PnP kit. The lighting will be scattered everywhere and not a lot of it will be focused onto hte street like they're suppose to be. If you had a retrofit, then the light would be spread out evenly on the street and you won't have to worry about blinding on coming traffic. Like most people would say, you get what you pay for.

So if I get the Sylvania or phillips bulbs all i have to do is swap my current bulbs for the new ones?

or do i need to get new housings for the bulbs also?

If you get those bulbs, then they're not HIDs, they're just hyper white bulbs

Thats a bad pic to see how good the light is.

First of all you can't see the beam pattern against the wall at 25 feet
and also you don't see any foreground light at all.

All i see in this pic is the brightness of the bulb and not any usable light pattern.

Take proper pics against the wall at 25 feet, then you will be able to tell if it's good or not.

you can sort-of get away with hids in the previous generation accords 04-07... their bulbs were put really deep in the headlamp.. so even with a pnp kit.. there is minimal glare..

9006 low beam, 9005 high beam for a 200 accord. since you have a seperate low beam bulb as oposed to a H or 9 series 2-way bulb you do not have to spend the extra money getting a hi-lo or bi-xenon kit. They probably don't even make a bi-xenon or hi-low for 9006 anyway.

Retro-fit is the professional way to go with it's OEM quality, razor-sharp cut-off etc.
But since you are inquiring about a kit and do not want to spend $500-$700, and probably do not want to hack your headlight housings in half, i will tell you about kits.

Chinese kits are amongst the worst reliablitly, go with a a european or even american made kit. I will recommend 6000k, even though you want 8000k.

The 6k is much brighter, whiter, and a wider beam. The 8k does look really cool actually, and penetrates through the fog better then 6k. But for drivabilty, and brightness 6k is the way to go.

hey i see that you know a lot about xenons. I also have a 2000 accord coupe and I want to get xenons for them. I'd like to get high and low but I also don't want them to have scattered light everywhere. And I like the same color as the 08 acura tl or bmw x5. What do I need to do and where can I get it done at and about how much would it cost?

for the xenon, 6000k is the most popular one, and if you want the "blue color" looks, you can try 8000k or 10000k, I install the 8000k and find it can use ok in rain weather, but fog is not perfect.
if you wan to install the single bulbs, the normal kit is ok, but if you use the bi-xenon or halogen/xenon, it is best to use the better ballast.
