Default B20 Swap in EG Power Steering question

Hey all,

Ok I've searched this topic before but have been getting mixed reponses.

I just swapped in a B20 into my EG. I'm going to be using power steering. From what I've searched I think I got the brackets figured out.

Brackets:
- All lower B-series (obd1+) power steering brackets are the same
- The upper power steering bracket has to match the head.

Is this info correct? If so than I'd just need a lower and upper bracket from a 94+ LS?

This is where I'm been reading the mixed info. Some people say you can use your d-series pump, some say you'll need to use a b-series pump. Can I just simply use the d-series pump? Any special modding needed?

Thanks

i had the same problem- i had a b16 then a poor mans r with my stock d series ps- just used b series brackets up top and bottom and it worked fine. i put the b20 in and nothing fits. I ended up making my own bracket

Hmm that sucks. I didn't even think the b20 would be any different from other b-series swaps. Could it be the d-series pump? Somewhere I read, maybe I misunderstood, that you'd be really stretching the power steering hose far if you try to use a D-series pump. Did it not reach when you try? Or did it not clear something?

what happens is the d series pump is wider and hits the timing cover. you can get a barbed union and just use a b series, but its ghetto. i guess my custom mount is ghetto as well tho

So wouldn't a 94+ LS upper bracket, 94+ B-series lower bracket, and B-series pump work? Would I need a different hose to run the b-series pump?

that will work- but your going to have to cut your hose in half and use barbed fittings- just not my style it could possibly leak

bump for more info if anyone knows what oem brackets to use

Barbed fittings are those fittings that have the nipple with the ripples on them so the hose doesn't slide off right?

Thanks for your help

Hopefully more people can share their experiences.

i have a 93 Si with a gsr swap. i used integra mounts and the 95 gsr pump. the gsr pump matches the power steering line exact. if the integra bracket bolts up to the b20 block, your good to go. kragen's, pep boys and those places sell power steering lines. you can change your out to match the power steering pump holes. if you lived near me, i'd give you some pumps to try...
