What type of Antifreeze does a CBR 600 RR take??
ok yes I know its a noob question but I just don't want to put the wrong thing into my bike
I just need to know is it a 50/50 mix or straight antifreeze,
is there a certain kind I should use or is more preferred.
I thank everyone for your help.

Not trying to ruin your post but how hard is it to change it... I'm doing an oil change tomorrow and might as well do the antifreezer while I'm at it.

It should say in your service manual. Which you have, right? I would think any generic a/f would work. I use water wetter + water, though, because I don't have to worry about freezing temps.
Oil changes and coolant flushing/replacing is real easy. A bit messy, but not if you take the effort to do it carefully.

no I don't have the service manual I bought the bike used and it didn't come with the bike.
and all I want to know is simply it the antifreeze a 50/50 ratio or do I used straight antifreeze
I'm sorry that I'm new with bikes and turning a wreck, but I'm just trying to do thing right.

Re: (tenntouge)
i used engine ice which was already premixed. it's not hard, but time consuming as you have to remove the left side fairings also. go to 600rr.net as they have a write up of what to do

Honda sells pre mixed antifreeze, its called honda's HP coolant i believe. No need to mix with water, just pour into your radiator. all you have to do is drain out the old fluid, flush it out with water, pour new coolant in until it reaches the bottom rim of the radiator cap and thats it. thats how i did it on my CR250. i have yet to do it on my RR but I figure it would be the same.

Re: (SWE3TDUDE)
I don't run ANY antifreeze. I use a mix of about 75% distilled water, and 25% water wetter. I used Engine Ice for a while, but the water wetter combo ran cooler and replacing engine ice after working on the bike was expensive. This was on a 13.5:1 motor.

answer is: you can use any antifreze and even automotive stuff, as long as it is aluminum compatible. The honda HP stuff is the best stock stuff to use, it comes premixed and is pretty cheap. Water wetter, Engine Ice ..... all good stuff but don't expect it to be given to you for free

well if you're trying to work on your bike by yourself, and especially if you're new to turning a wreck (or a wrench even, for that matter) you should have bought a service manual too... they're not that expensive. and finding out what coolant you should use is as easy as calling your local honda dealer and asking the pros. could have saved you some apparent frustration.

Same. I used to work at Tucker Rocky and I'm cool with the boss so I still get employee discount. 60% off list ftmfw.
