opinions please on price of a used bike
hey guys, i'm located in so cal and a buddy is looking to sell his 2005 r6 with 13k (mostly trips to arizona) for 5000. the bike has been dropped twice, with minor scartches to the abs plastic fairing. the guy maintains his stuff though, with regular oil changes and minor maintenance constantly. i of course will have a mechanic do a thorough shakedown of the bike but my question is the price. does it seem like a good deal? 13k miles seems like a lot for an 05 but then again, they are highway miles.

from what ive heard, ca prices are a bit higher than what im used to. that and its riding season again. so i guess its a good price.
as always, try to negotiate as much as you can though. maybe ~$4.8k.
what kind of title does it have?

I think that price is fair esp for this area (Not to sure about cali)- even for the amount of miles on it. All depending on how bad the damage is - if it is just minor scratches then I would say go for it. After your mechanic looks at it of course! good luck

Yes but an 05?
If you know the bike's history, $5K is an excellent price for a bike that cost $8400 just one year ago.

Not with the rate of deprecation for a Yamaha...

your right , i didnt notice that. But the ony big difference between '03 and '05 is the inverted fork, not worth a premium to most people.
