Default Buddy Club Cam Gears BREAKING?

Anyone have problems with their Buddy Club cam gears breaking or whatever? They claim to be made of AL7075-T6 material, same as TODA cam gears supposedly? Any opinions?

How long have you ran with them? How high do you rev your motor daily?

That is interesting that they are breaking. If one knows his metals he would know that 7075 is one of the highest strength aluminum alloys available. It's strength-to weight ratio is excellent and it is ideally used for highly stressed parts.

The T-6 designation is the temper designation. So it's Temper 6 meaning it's been solution heat treated, then artificially aged.

Yes. I saw this thread a while back however that doesn't mean that its the BC cam gear that were faulty. I think there was an install error related to that thread.

Anyway, I've ran my BC cam gear for about 15000 kms (9500 miles) without any issues. So far so good.

Hi

Bought, installed and tuned with BC3+ Cams (Which I LOVE!) at Raceline Development in Temple City.

They broke on me probably three months ago, showed them to Elton at Raceline
and discussed the situation with them as to what could have caused him to do that.
He told me that it could have just been a part of a faulty batch, **** happens when
it comes to performance parts. I can deal with that. I decided to not make a big
fuss about them. However I did send them to you guys a week ago just to see
what action you guys would take on the matter.

Sent VIA USPS with delivery confirmation. Tracking number was:
0483 5689 8370 2001 8671 which was received on May 2nd, 2006.

Thank you for your attention and consideration in the matter

My friend who helped me replace the cam gears talks mad ****, but you know what
BC still gets a from me as far as I am concerned. He's just bitter
that I didn't build my car to be a drag car like his

That was my dyno sheet from when Elton from Raceline tuned my car a year and a
half ago with the BC3+'s and the BC cams gears in there.

Apparently even before I posted about my cams breaking, Buddy Club had already reacted. How do I know? Because it takes at least 2 days to send something via UPS ground from where they are to where I live. I posted last night. I was pleasantly surprised when I came home today and found a package.

These guys are AWESOME! No questions, no finger pointed. Simply took care of the customer

Ya, my broken ones were the first generation ones without markings. Bob who used to be at Raceline lined them up with stockers and marked them with a sharpie.

WOW... It's so refreshing to see a performance part manufacturer stand by their product and take care of the customer so well!

I'm glad to see the issue was handled promptly, and since I'll be purchasing cam gear soon, this definitely will influence my decision. +1 for BC

I made this post cause Elton @ raceline had told me that one of his customers BC gears broke and I had BC IV cams and gears.. So he recomended the Toda instead.. I ended up with the Toda and sold my BC gears.. I guess you were the customer Elton was talking about.. Glad you had it solved.. I had called BC about it and they had told me it'll break only if not installed properly by spec.. BTW I love the Spec IVs, great top end power.. Idle is a lil rough though..
