Signed up, new shocks on the Towhoe, and ready to go...except the oil change, brake pad swap, general tightening, cleanup, maybe new plugs and wires, kinda wonder about the timing...

Just found out yesterday that I have to move that day, god I picked the worst day for that. I wanted to be there to help out.
Good luck to Dave, Zephyr, and Kevin.
See you guys at the next one...

well, the achillies heel of these damn early KL03 motors seems to be the distributor; more accurately, the ignitor, internal coil combination..... my car has almost 200k miles on it, and the 4th distributor just melted down, just as i was backing the car off the trailer for an instructional weekend up at Pocono with NASA; well, that was it! no more rebuilding the mazda disty or installing new oem coils, etc!
i cut out the oem coil, and cut out the ignitor. now, all the disty does is distribute the spark! i wired in an external MSD Blaster2 coil (old school drag race style, yo!), modified the distributor cap to accept a power tower, and hard wired in a HEI ignitor from a 1979 caprice 350 V8 (super old school, yo!) to work with the coil....
damn car started right up and sounds great! idles better, starts easier, seems to rev much better..... but, only time on the track will tell; we will see how she runs the first rungroup out on monday!
so, that is how i "revived" her!!!!

That totally blows Dave. I was really hoping that you were going to be there this weekend. I'm sure that Clay will be there to bust all our *****. I hope you can make at least one day of racing.

tell me about it man. I was supposed to be out of here this coming tuesday/wednesday. There is a tiny, and I mean tiny, chance I can make the sunday race, but don't count on it. Dad is gonna continue prepping the car in case... Gotta get the head back on it from the Beav.

Im anticipating being a spectator at the event. What does a spectator entry fee ticket run these days?? Hopefully the weekend will be humid free, unlike the Honda day at E-town. Looking forward to attending my first HC event!!
