How can I test a resistor box out of my 90 ex? I have a problem getting fuel into the port. It seems like the injectors are not opening properly. Fuel is getting to the rail, and into the injector, just not spraying. Is this a sign that the resistor box has failed? Let me know any idea's, or suggestions. Thanks.

Have you cleaned your injectors lately? Perhaps their stuck. If you can, try swapping out the resistor for a known good one.

i lost injector pulse on my first ECU, same symptoms you describe. you need a multimeter to check for injector pulse.
try resistor box first, if that doesnt solve it, triple check all your grounds, especially at the ecu itself, and your 12 volt inputs. if all is in order, you might end up buying a new ecu, as i had to do.

It depends, are you running an OBD-0 system or OBD-1? You can tell by the ECU code if you don't know what is supposed to be in around the engine bay.

if it has been a long time since the injectors were last used... then maybe you have "bad gas" in them causing them to stick closed...
try tapping on the injectors to free the stuck pintles.. i.e. take a screw driver and put it on the body of the injector and whack it with a hammer...its just like a stuck float in a carb... just be careful that you dont damage the injectors or start whacking on the plastic portions.. if its a freshly swapped jdm motor, this is not terribly uncommon... if this gets it to start up then run your first few tanks of gas with fuel injector cleaner in it...i.e. techron or lucas... if you want to get all tough you could take them out and bang/shake them around a bit and spray some goo in them and try to clean them... |
