Default Twin Disc Shopping - Street/Strip

Twin disc shopping, daily driver weekend strip, what do you guys run? Budget - $1400. Not there yet, but won't be going much over 500lb/ft and 26" tire at the track ever.

Looking at:

Clutchmasters
Spec
Competition
Exedy

Want something with good rebuild cost, best road manners (not expecting any miracles here, just the best of the bunch)

I like my comp twin. It's not hard to drive. The only issue I have is the noise it makes when I press the clutch pedal in.

I'd go with comp twin!! They have the A, B and C pressure plates. I'd say the B will suffice for your needs and should be pretty easy to drive. PM'd you a price if your interested!!

i dd my exedy all the time. love it. once it was broke in a little and got used to it, it has little to no chatter or jerking on take off. drives better than my cc stage 4 imo

Check out ACT, they have a twin disc setup and I believe it's fair priced. Here's the part# T1RR-H03. It's priced close to the CC twin, but yields a higher torque capacity.

After the 3 exedy twins we've pulled, i personally will never run one. They were all grenaded, with low miles. 2 had never seen the track. Comp will suffice well, and are among the best priced you will find

Thanks for the opinions guys. Appreciate it. Anyone used clutchmasters?

My CC Stage 4 w/ X-plate went after 6mths daily driving all motor and 7mths @ 300whp...and took my flywheel with it..so I'm a little iffy about going back to another one of their clutches.

Would you mind explaining a little more about the A,B and C pressure plates please?
I just purchased a CC twin and they sold it to me as 700hp or 1200hp versions, they said the covers are pretty much the same and it's in the friction material.
Don't get me wrong, not saying your wrong as what you said makes perfect sense, I just want to make 100% sure I was given accurate information.

I'm surprised no one has thrown Tilton in the mix.

The difference in the plates is slightly more clamping force with each, there are A B C and D plates now ive heard

I've always felt the comp twin discs felt the most street able to me

I've been running a SPEC twin for a few years now..it has ~12,000 miles on it, still going strong! I have had to use my car to commute to work for a while, i drive it to school sometimes, and when i usually end up driving it ~55 miles (each way) to our local track..still holding up!

Im using exedy now im very happy with it both on te streets and on track.

CC also gets my vote, some of my friends are running them and happy with them too.

Gonna try the CC triple soon. Most of the people have used them has a good positive feedback with them.

I've run the Clutch masters FX-700 twin on my street RSX and I've been very pleased with it. You can preload it all day long and it will not slip.

Other than shitting the hubs out of the discs, Comp Twin disk clutches hold power great.

TOTALLY streetable. No issues street driving mine at all.
