Hondas4All- I definately don't have the money to do all this at once but I can do a couple things at a time probably, depending on what it is. Thanks for the support!

Bingo. Necessary things before unnecessary things.

With a 267,000 mile Pennsylvania chassis, I can think of a lot more worthwhile items to spend your money on than an engine swap.

Not really worth it.

i always forget about northern cars and rust. luckily here in the south we don't have to worry about that. with that in mind and the fact that the car is automatic i'd say NO.

thehatchninja- Ya I'm surprised rust hasn't set in, there aren't even little spots of it yet, just keep putting wax on every now and than, it seems to be helping a lot. And ya the auto kind of makes me mad, I have to talk to my brother still about the auto-man. swap when we have to do the motor and trans. to see what he thinks since he would be the one helping me. Thanks for the thoughts.

Its all about priorities, if your suspension is weak fix it first, if your engines ready to go, get that done. You see what I'm sayin. Also if your going to do the auto to manual swap, you've got to realize that you'll have to find all the parts which can be difficult unless you can find a manual accord with a blown engine and use that.

body rust isn't what i'd be worried about. Wait until you start trying to take out suspension bolts, exhaust bolts etc. It's just going to make everything a headache. My car was in NY for the first 30,000 miles of it's life, and i broke at least 3 suspension bolts when i lowered the car.

My Accord spent every day of it's life in the fog belt of the frozen north east coast. When I stripped my car of every bolt I never broke one of them. I guess it all depends on how well kept the car was. My saving grace was that I bought my car from an old couple who had the Accord dealer maintained. Every fall all of the suspention and engine bay bolts were sprayed with some sort of silicone grease. It was part of their yearly weatherproofing.

My accord, before i stripped it down and re-did everything might have suffered from slight rust in the rear fender-wells after 14 years of North East ownership. Otherwise, everything else was quite up to or above standard.

I'm sure some of the bolts will give me some trouble but i don't think fighting to get them off will be too horrible to deal with, thanks for the input everyone.

Go for it. Check out some of the cars from CD Squad. Not a member but some of those cars inspired me to finish my CD5. Swap in a H22 and it will run with the best of em.

Chino504- Boosting the stock motor isn't worth it to me unless yours is a VTec or you have crazy low miles on your motor.

This thread will show you what your ride can look like. CD5 is a honda you can actually pick your girl up in, at the parents house and not get ragged on about Of course other hondas can be fabbed up, but theres just something about the Front end of a CD5https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/off-topic-97-cd5-project-1786985/

CD5's have performance potential too.
Larger engine bay to house bigger turbos and the more powerful four bangers, Like this one;]

Nice choice for a swap bsivoljr Good luck with that

You have to remember not everyone that owns an Accord can afford a $6K (± a few hundred) + labor + electronics & tuning, K series swap. I don't think the op is up for dropping that much just for swap parts.

Very true, lol, I'm on a low budget since I'm still going to high school and starting college all at the same time and money on gas and books

I'd say build & turbo the F22 and if you're staying NA then get an H22.

^ I want to go with the H22 since I would rather stay away from the turbo for the time being.

It's worth it because your getting a "use" engine with low mileage.
