Guy gave me the wrong cluster or something?

Default Guy gave me the wrong cluster or something?

I Went to the wreckers and asked for a 96-00 Honda civic cluster the guy gave me one (has a tachometer, mine didn't) I tried to install it but it doesn't have a slot for the orange pin, if i need to plug that in..

Just took another look, Is the plug for the orange clip under that thing next to the yellow clip?/if so howcome it hadn't been used

the yellow plug is for srs, you should have a yellow connector for it. plug the other two wire ends into their respective places, make sure theyre connected securely. fyi- you can put your odometer/speedometer into that cluster to retain accurate mileage

ok it's me from the other post,
I plugged everything in but no rev and stuff.. could the cluster be broken?/ what is that orange cable for

that plug is for abs, which i dont think you have. unless you yanked on the harness or have some other wiring issue, the cluster is faulty.

The lights come on on the cluster accept half of the tachometer gauge,
Could the thing down the bottem left on the second pic be a possible fault?

i didnt notice that, that is almost certainly your problem. those copper leads are the circuitry for the cluster, those two are shot.

It isn't like completely off tho,
It's still there just not stuck down
will take it back thursday and report back

replace the missing screw as well, those need to be in there. (1st pic)

good idea. the screw is probably why your tach doesnt work.

Yes they look bad (the power + and - trace might be broken). If the temperature gauge don't work, you can jumper the temp + to the tach. + and the temp - to the tach -.

The right indicator doesn't work, nor does the tachometer itself lol.
Taking it back for a replacement
