Re: LS MOTOR SPECS. (96H4TCH)
Ok, you should search. I'll help you because I care. There are two versions of the LS engine, the B18A and B18B. The motor is nicknamed LS because it was the base engine in the Acura Integra. The B18A came in the 2nd gen integras and made 130hp. The B18B came in the 3rd gen integras and made 140hp.

Re: LS MOTOR SPECS. (JohnnyWash1)
I just got through with B18B1 swap last week.
I took the 75 hp CX engine/trans out of my 93hatch and put the 142hp LS engine in.
Runs like a rocket now, and the mpg didn't take that big a hit either.
It was really close to a "Piece of Cake" if you have all the LS stuff you need.
Get engine/trans/halfshafts/ecu/accel cable/motor mounts/trans mounts, and exhaust back to cat, and you'll pretty much be in business.
I bought wrecked 92 hatch in junk yard with the swap already done and paid 260.00 for the whole car delivered to my shop. The buy of the century, a lot of the car was already stripped except for what I needed.
I forgot about LS shift rods also.

A guy is selling me a complete swap 97' LS motor for $800 not including labor, sound right?
Also... how much hp is added if I got a VTEC head on an LS motor?
Thanks again...

you say "adding vtec" like its easy, I would do a lil more research about an LS/Vtec project. But basically you have the potential (if done right) of creating a motor that puts out 170-180 horsepower maybe more with boltons and tuning. I have a friend who is also a H-T member that has a 200 hp LS/V. The thing runs like a rocket.

I thought you could'nt use the integra cables an a couple of the mounts? I always heard you had to get "Si" bracket ect... Not exactly sure at this point just figured I'd bring it up.

When I changed out the engine, I had to get the accel cable and bracket off the car the engine was in.
I went from a 92 CX to a 93 CX, so the cable that worked had to be Integra because the 93 was different and didn't work.
The mount brackets have to be Integra and the bottom mounts use the Civic rubber mount.

look at everything for u or just get a written "it runs" type thing and ur good.
btw as the info says, try to get a 94-01 ls cuz the earlier ones have less power (90-91)
