Well i know i dont post much just mainly a lurker but decided its time to show off what ive done. Ive used the forum for my own personal build ideas/info/help and i would have been lost without this forum. So i figured maybe i can help someone else who might need it.
Ill start from the beginning. Its hard doing a build thread after its all said and done but ill try my best. Im just looking to get some fellow honda guys opinions on what ive done and my hard work. It'd be cool to get it noticed by someone who really appreciates the hard work done. I bought the car in April of 2011 just two months before my 18th birthday(yes im a youngin, now 19). Drove all the way from Spearfish SD to Indianapolis, IN to get it. Drove 2400 round trip in 2 days without stopping. The guy i bought it from had done a very nice wire tuck to it and swapped a JDM D15B in it. It was a fun little car, faded paint, dents all over rust on the fenders but i loved it. The gas money i spent to get it was about half what i paid for the car ha! This is what it looked like the day after i brought it home. (sorry my dates on the camera are wrong they werent set) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ordered some Function and Form Type 1's the next day from getting home. ![]() ![]() Later got some Rota Slips that i painted white and also a carbon fiber hood and trunk. Changed things here and there, front lip, small stuff like that. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then started the paint process, took everything apart and started sanding and doing body work. And there was a lot. A deer hit the rear quarter and rolled down it and the rear fenders were both rusted out. I had never done a lick of body work in my life or paint work for that matter. But i just went for it. It took a long time and there are still flaws but im very proud of myself. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I went for a carbon fiber vinyl vs a real roof cap, for two reasons. Price is outrageous, and i didnt feel comfortable with a huge expensive sheet of carbon fiber being held on by double sided tape. ![]() Throughout the paint process, i took some of the interior apart, got some MOMO seats, MOMO steering wheel, Red floor mats, and Red door inserts. Once paint was all said and done, i assembled everything including the interior and this is what i came up with. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My next project was some rear suspension stuff. I had got an integra rear disc swap when i bought the car but never got to putting it one. So decided it was time. Upgraded the brake system, master cylinder, prop valve and all new pads and slotted and drilled rotors, also Brand new Russels stainless brake lines. Finished it all out with Blox LCA's, ASR subframe brace, Beaks lower tie bar, and Blox camber and toe kit. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is how the car stayed for awhile. Then i came across a guy that was building a z6 and never finished it. I decided i was ready to take on the challenge. It took about 3 months and some long hard work but was well worth it in the end. Pulled the engine and started getting to work. ![]() ![]() I dropped the whole subframe and all front suspension. Everything was replaced with all freshly powdercoated components including the subframe itself. New tie rods and ball joints also. Not a lick of the front end wasnt replaced. Went with Blox camber kit on the front also. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Undercoated the wheel wells ![]() I then started the process of shaving the bay to accompany the already finished wire tuck. This took some time and it still isent as good as i had hoped or liked but im happy with the outcome none the less. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then was time for the engine. Like i said, came across a guy that was building one then never finished it. I took on the task of finishing the build and then throwing it in the car. Lot of time and thought went into making it exactly how I wanted it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The full setup is as follows: D16z6/w JDM trans (ACT Stage 4, 4 puck clutch, ACT lightweight flywheel) Dyno Tuned on Hondata S300- 340 whp 255 lbs tq at 16 psi on 91 pump -Head: Crower Turbo Grind Cam Crower Valves, Springs, Retainers Ported and polished Cometic Headgasket .030 Gates Timing Belt AEM Adjustable cam gear Skunk2 intake manifold Skunk2 Throttle body AEM fuel rail AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator -Block: Benson Sleeved CP 75.5 pistons Eagle Rods/ARP bolts ARP Headstuds ACL main, rod, thrust bearings Oem oil pump Oem Water pump -Turbo: Garrett .57 Turbo Spoolin Performance Turbo Manifold HKS Blow Off Valve 2.5 Piping Emusa Intercooler Precision 39mm Wastegate RC 750cc Injectors Omni 3 Bar Map Sensor Walbro 255 Fuel Pump 3" Downpipe MSD Wires MSD Blaster SS Coil MSD Distributor Cap As it sits now this is where its at. In the future i might think about e85 or something else. I still feel the car has more potential then what its tuned to, and i feel i could get more power out of it but im content at the moment. Until life slows down and i have some time ill stay here. But ive been getting an itch to go bigger and better lately so we'll see how long i can hold out. I really appreciate you looking at my car, ive put my whole life into this thing and i wouldnt take anything back. Ive had it for a little over a year now and its taken a huge transformation in that time. Being 18 years old has its challenges when it comes to this but the car community really helped me out and i cant thank everyone enough for the support i was given during this. Again i appreciate everyone looking and appreciating my work. Its always been my dream to have a car like this and better yet get it recognized in the car community and the honda community. I hope someday ill get recognized by the big boys like Honda Tuning and other such as them to really show off my work. Thanks everyone and please give me your opinions on it all. I really wanna know what fellow honda fans think ![]() ![]() ![]() All photos courtesy of me and Fotomotive Special thanks to My family, Great Friends, and all the supportive people in the car community |

Car looks awesome. One thing I would recommend you doing is lose that harness bar if you value your life!!! They are very dangerous if you get into a wreck.

Do yourself a huge favor and replace the hardware on the camber arms. Blox hardware is notorious for backing out and sending your alignment all to hell.

Be proud of yourself bro. Excellent build. All this fresh hatches making me want one.
In regards to the Carbon Fiber roof. Carbon fiber is not installed used 2 sided tape.... It's used with epoxy resin.....

As for the carbon roof, I guess I never thought of that, I've just always seen them saying they come with "3m double sided strengthening adhesive blah blah" so I was a little sketched out I suppose. |

awesome build! i understand your struggle since i recently turned 20 and im almost done with my jdm d15b e85 turbo build. i deffffinately reccomend the e85. i love how the car came out, it looks great! i love the slips and how the match the bay, i love the red and the seats are awesome but i wouldve preffered some type r's myself (thats what im trying to put in mine) nice steering wheel and suspension mods.

Holy progress batman!
Love the car and the fast progress. IMO the rota's are too bright of a white, I like the black ones, just my opinion its your car though. Anyways to my question, how did you like doing the rear quarters? Trying to build myself up enough confidence to do mine... nervous as hell though. Let me know how it went for you.

They come with metal zipties, or you could use a band clamp, either way works good.

Quarters i was scared to death to do... Most nerve wracking moment of the whole build i think besides it being on the dyno. You just gotta do it though man. The stuff i used was called Duramix or something from carquest. Expensive but holy hell is it strong, stuff dries like cement, you have to damn near take a grinder to get it off.. |

And now that I take a second look at the engine bay, it really compliments the rims when you have the engine exposed. Goood work though, will be in for this.
